I'm lurking from another board, but I miss having an active multiples board. My fraternal girls are about to turn four. I also had a biter who only bit her sister. :-)
I recognize your name from some board, idk which though. Mine aren't identical either.
They don't bite but they grab each other and squeeze their hardest. Luckily it's not too much. I'm finding the past few weeks they are getting along better, so four may be a good year!
My b/g twins are doing well! My only trouble is that they share a room and stay up playing and refuse to go to sleep. They have also been bad and smearing poop on the walls lately.... My house sure is fun from 8:30 on!
Your twins are a lot older than mine, but mine have to share a room too and it is kind of making sleep training (and sleep period, I guess) impossible. There isn't much sleep happening in the Narwhal house either, particularly tonight since it's 1:30 am and the 4th wake up. Haha.
We attempted to sleep train at 9months corrected age. It was hell. We live in a loft and the boys share a "room." We were never able to ferberize Henry and Jack would fall asleep but then wake up because of Henry's screams. Eventually though, they were able to fall asleep on their own. We had about 5 good months where they would fall asleep on their own and stay asleep until about 3am when we would have to go in and they would be back down in a couple minutes.
Since June we have had some serious regression. We are in the middle of sleep training again (we work with a sleep specialist in Ferber's clinic) and it's a lot tougher this time around. See my climbing out of the crib post from a couple days ago on three different boards they throw their lovies out, jack shimmies his crib over to the light switch, etc. It's been almost a week and it's gotten easier to get them down but still not great and they are up a million times.
Lack of sleep is really affecting my life. I have less patience with the boys, am snappy with H, am more irritable and just not myself. I hope they start sleeping again soon!
I totally feel for you when it comes to sleep issues!
lauren9317 I work 2 days a week. I found that to be a good balance when the boys were younger. Now, I think another day or two at work would be fantastic for my sanity

Oh my god, the poop smearing... We started trying to potty train because of this. DD1 kept smearing it all over their beds. They've stopped doing it, but they're not potty trained yet.
I'm expecting twin boys in December! I'm 21 weeks now and everything is going well. We're excited and terrified, lol. DD will be 4 in October and she's super excited.
I ordered cribs already but haven't done much else. I got the book "what to do when you're expecting two" and that is about far as I've gotten. I'd like to figure out strollers and early sleeping arrangements at some point in the next couple months.
I guess I should probably say more about myself other than a yes vote for the board I'm expecting twin girls at the end of December and DD will be 2 at the end of September. We're a little scared about 3 so young but also excited.
I'm expecting twins in November and would love a multiples board if people posted to it. I usually hang out on MMM.
And we aren't finding out genders but know they are fraternal. I'm really hoping boy/girl but we'll see! I was scared at first but now am very excited. I know it will be a challenge but any mom I know with twins says it's such a blessing too.
fryjack2 I am a snippy miserable mess too. I don't do very well on no sleep so it's been rough, but I keep telling myself, it CANT last forever?!? I saw your post the other day- after I looked around my boys' room thinking about what I need to do to proof it once they have figured out how to escape. Haha. What gestation were your boys born? I came down with HELLP at 29 weeks and they took them after the 48 steroid window. I hope your boys start sleeping soon! But until then, you have a sleep deprived internet friend

They were 33 weeks. I went into the hospital at 31wks and 5 days due to pre-e/HELLP, and unexplained low heart rate (32-39). Got the steroids and daily scans. Started bleeding (had placenta previa) and contractions started that they were able to stop, tons of mag and BP meds pre and post delivery and then the docs wanted them out because of the IUGR and because my vitals weren't looking so good. I don't remember a lot because of the mag, but I do remember being really scared. We weren't planning on another baby, but that experience sealed the deal.
Thanks for tagging me, fryjack2. I also wish the multiples board was back! I was just getting brave enough to think about posting (because my pregnancy was almost over and it was real) when it was deleted.
My g/g fraternal twins will be 6 months old next week. @awinter had the same due date as me with her twin girls.
I know there are others... I can think of posters but not names! Twin sleep deprivation is really messing with my memory.
Did anyone here have SI joint problems while carrying multiples? I had no issues with DD but am only 19 weeks and have already had 3 chiro adjustments in the past week to try and get it back into place because it hurts to do anything. Just wondering if anyone else experienced and has any suggestions.

Checking in with 5 month old twin girls. I feel like I am going to lose my shit right now lol. The girls literally do not sleep at night. I have been up every single hour the past two nights and slept maybe 30 minutes. I do not understand what is wrong with them. They had two good night's but before that is was the same every hour shit. I'm so tired. This is a new level of sleep deprivation I never knew with J and he was a shitty sleeper.
Having multiples is a whole different ballgame than singletons!!
Currently 26.5 weeks pregnant with spontaneous fraternal boy/girl twins. Due date is 11/23 but my OB expects the babies to arrive end of October or early November. I'm being seen by the OB every 2 weeks and having ultrasounds every 4 weeks. Everything has been going smoothly thus far, just the usual aches/pains, heart burn, etc.
I've done a lot of reading on twin pregnancy but feel like I now need more info on labor and delivery. Both babies were breech at our last apt, but I'm really hoping they will flip so I can try for a vaginal delivery. I'm also hoping to get as much advice as I can on how to survive the beginning of having two babies and any tricks you ladies have learned along the way.
I'd love the multiples board to come back! I didnt post often, but feel like I would now.
My son turned 16 months the day after my fraternal twin girls were born. My girls turn 1 on friday! My son is difficult lately because he has a speech delay and the communication is minimal.
I'm fuckin' tiredddd. But I also love how close in age they are lately. There are all interacting more now, (and fighting...) and it's sweet to see them with this bond.
@awinter my girls were horrid sleepers. Horrid. And one doesn't believe in CIO or Ferber. It gets better. Promise.
I think they are teething. They both used to give me at least a 4 to 6 hour stretch. Then it went to hell
My twins went through the 4-month wakeful around 5 months, probably because they were born about a month early (36w4d). Maybe (hopefully) it's that. And, months 4-6 were definitely the worst for us.

I'm holding out hope on the gets better thing Henry doesn't believe in CIO or Ferber either. And now Jack wants the lights on (even with a nightlight that fills the room), the sliding doors open, and someone to sleep on the floor next to him. Its melt down central every night.

We must have twin, twins because my boys are up every hour to hour and half all night long. And obviously, as soon as one is finally asleep for about 15 mins the other wakes up! Yay!! Plus, they do not nap for longer than 20 mins. EVER. NEVER. EVER. EVER. Anyway, I feel you. I've been in tears twice today because I'm so freaking tired.

Mine were born at 36w4d too. I am in hell. They just will not sleep!! I just nursed them and both fell asleep. H took e and put her down. I made sure k was out and he picked her up to put her down and she started screamibg. 5 minutes later e was screaming again. Now both are up and we are trying to get them back down again. I'm seriously losing my mind. I haven't completed a single sleep cycle myself in two days now.I don't know what to do. I have never felt so frustrated, hope less I don't even know. I need sleeeeep!!!!!

Mine have decided that 4:30am is a lovely morning wake up time. For the first half hour or so they coo at each other in the crib...then they start crying because they're bored and want to get up... I miss sleep.

Ugh, don't these babies know their parents need sleep! J was an awful sleeper but the girls were actually pretty good which is why I am doubly frustrated right now. Two babies is so much harder than 1!!!
