when buying a watch? I want to buy (as I am sure you all read already, ha ha) a Burberry watch for DH. I know fakes are made of this watch... because I googled it and a China fake website came up
Overstock has this listed for about $140 cheaper. Would you trust that it's authentic?
The only reason I wouldn't is if they are not an authorized dealer because then usually warranties are void. My husband has a Burberry sports watch and after 2 years the strap broke. He mentioned it offhand to the nordstrom sales guy we bought it from and he told dh to bring it in. He sent it into Burberry and had it fixed at no cost to us. But that might just be nordstroms awesome customer service.

My favorite earrings are from Overstock. I bought boots from them, too. No complaints here (and I love that Groupon occasionally has deals for them).
Having said that, if I were buying a gift, and that gift had the potential to be wonky (I've had a bad experience with Burberry), I'd purchase from a place like Nordstrom so that it could get fixed or replaced. When people buy me nice things and they break, it sucks even more than if I had bought it myself. They feel bad, I'm bummed, etc.

I got a watch from OS that seems legit enough, came with real packaging and I had to take it to 4 different jewelers to have links removed b/c no one had the right tool for that brand and no one was ever like "you know this is fake, right?"
but even if it was a fake, it was the style I wanted at 1/4 the price.
Overstock has a surprising amount of high end stuff if you look--for instance, look at handbags and sort by Highest Price--tons of designer bags from 2-3 seasons ago.
It's all legit (at least what I've bought is). I love Overstock.
