I bet they'll do some kind of online thank you.  Freeman had a performance of Richard III.  Not sure why Cumberbatch wasn't there...IIRC when he was nominated he said something about "looking forward to sweating on the red carpet" or something that indicated he would attend.  Maybe he's home with blankies and cocoa still recovering from his quadruple-ice-bucket-challenge.  ;-)

No one I know IRL is anywhere close to as invested in all this as I am, and wouldn't care or know what I was talking about if I tried to explain.
