Sports Night by Aaron Sorkin of West Wing fame. Fabulous cast, great dialogue, and only dated by the laugh track. Today, no way in the hell would there be a laugh track. Also, only 2 seasons.
And now I'm pissed that Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip isn't available for Netflix streaming.
Well the first few episodes were a bit boring. I was kind of playing "Spot the Pride and Prejudice/Marple/Poirot/Downton/Forsyte Saga actor". There is a ton of that. Then I think it got really good after Dawn French left. Can't stand her. I love period TV shows so it might just be more up my alley.
I also tried Cranford and Forsyte and couldn't get into them. I've been dying to find something to tide me over until Downton is back.
Cranford bored me to tears. I got through about 2/3 of the first episode. Downton is back on September 21!
I'm rewatching House on Netflix right now. I love this show.
Next up is The Wire and The Sopranos, neither of which I've seen. I also loved Dexter, if you haven't watched that yet.
Crap I knew I was forgetting some. Yes watched Dexter and Sopranos, but not the Wire. I tried a couple years ago but couldn't get in to it. I should try again.
Also reminded me that I watched Walking Dead and the first two seasons of AHS.
You have to watch at least the first five or six episodes of The Wire. I always tell people that they can't think of the seasons as 13 hour-long episodes but one 13-hour long movie. Things don't fall into place and start making sense until the fifth or sixth episode.

Ok this is good to know. I will try again - I felt like I was missing something since everyone raved about it.

I'm glad you said this. After Breaking Bad ended, a lot of people said that if you love BB, watch The Wire because it's just as good, if not better. So we got season one, and I could barely make it through three episodes. We stopped after that and haven't tried again since, but I do want to give it a chance.

Breaking Bad and The Wire are very, very different. Both great shows, but nothing like each other.

I think the people saying it were comparing them in a way that they both had a great amount of acting talent, interesting plot lines, intellect, etc. I definitely am not expecting another BB. But I am interested in giving The Wire a try. So many people on here and elsewhere have recommended it, I am intrigued.
