Meh. Frosting is fantastic, the cake needs more watermelon flavor. Some broke off while I was flipping the pans over so I tasted it. We shall see what it tastes like once its all together. I might add half a package more jello next time.

Post pictures! I have yet to attempt anything along these lines, that I've found on Pinterest. I always imagine the "Nailed it." fails when thinking about doing some sort of specialty cake/cookie etc.

Okay no pictures because my top cake split and it looks so sad but the watermelon taste of the cake is brought out by the frosting. Its really good. A little too sweet frosting wise so if I do it again I'll tweak it. E doesn't like artificial watermelon flavor which the jello gives so he thought it was meh. I'd say if you like watermelon its worth attempting.
do you think this would be doable in cup cake form??? Really cute
K's cousin's wife (follow that?) did watermelon cupcakes recently. So, yes, they are doable in cupcake form. If you want the recipe she used, just let me know and I can totally get that for ya.

I think so. Its just a box cake mix jazzed up so I don't see why not. You might have to play with the cook time a little but otherwise it would make a cute cupcake!
