All I could think of when I saw this post was "will her new insurance cover her son's meds?" SO glad to see it will along with all the other benefits. Congratulations!
And, I would totally negotiate for the higher salary in your situation. All they can do is say "no", right? It's highly unlikely they're going to pull the offer over a request for an additional $2,500. Good luck!
I'm mostly a lurker, but I've def been following your job hunt! I'm so excited for you - congrats!! Maybe I'll get to be next?!? (fingers crossed:) Update us with how the notice-giving goes - I'll live vicariously through you! As for the $2,500 - I wouldn't hestitate to ask. But have some reason to back it up. Some rationale as to why the extra cash is a totally reasonable request.
Yes! Congratulations! So happy for you! Don't be nervous about giving notice.
Whatever happened to your car situation?
Thanks, everyone!
The cars... ugh. Mine was just a battery. H's is still in the shop. We've been away, but it sounds like a $5-600ish repair. Better than it could have been, definitely!
We ended up borrowing FIL's truck for our trip, so it worked out fine.
