So whats everyone going as? Any awesome Deco plans?
M son will be the 11th Doctor, its his fav. Dinosaurs on a ship is his favorite, but we going with out the jacket. Its going to be still pretty warm. My daughter is going as a princess riding on a dragon/dinosaur, it changes depending on what she is doing lol.
I don't know yet. My daughter will either be Thor (her costume for the Denver Comic Con) or Tinkerbell-since those are both costumes we already have. Usually we do more but we are currently remodeling our house to get ready to put it on the market so we are trying not to spend any unnecessary funds right now. If she goes as Thor then I will dress like Maria Hill (again my costume from the con) and if she goes at Tinkerbell I probably won't dress up.
I love Halloween but my perennial whine since becoming an adult is that I never have any parties to go to and then one time I tried holding my own, barely anyone came and it wasn't worth the heartache. I LOVE costumes. IF we do anything, it will be the aborted costume from last year, which was Pop Art, since I have half the stuff for it, even though everyone is kind of doing it now. If we have nothing to do, I like to do a more modified costume for handing out candy that makes me less depressed.

The Cincy gbcners are probably having a Halloween party. You're more than welcome to come to ours (we promise we're not skinsuity!).

We have gone to a fall, or halloween festival for the last few years. I hoping the fall festival here is as good as the ones we have been to. We don't have to buy candy, unless its the day after, get to dress up, and the kids get to trick and treat. Last year they had beer too.
My DS ruined my idea of him and his sister dressing up as Wreck It Ralph and Fix It Felix because he wants to be a pumpkin. I'll also be making a Zarina costume from the Pirate Fairy, the new Tinkerbell movie for my DD. My DH and I will be dressed as Wayne and Garth from Wayne's World. I'm hoping my mom can find her old school concert tees for me for that.

aww that sucks! I love Halloween I throw a giant bash every year. Costumes are a must. I will admit the first year I did it we did not have that many people come. this is the 4th year we are doing it. we had a really good turn out last year. I can't decide on a costume. DH is hellbent on doing a couples costume and keeps changing his mind on what he wants to do. Currently I'm thinking Jessica Rabbit for me and the Detective for DH. from who framed Rodger Rabbit. (good lord I just realized that movie is 25+ years old. way to show my age.)

If we end up doing anything, I'll put DS1 in the Frodo costume he wore to Comic Con this summer. Then little 2-week-old DS2 can wear a gray onesie and pants and go as Gollum.

If you know of any of them who might want a kids' Dalek or toddler TARDIS costume, I still can't bring myself to get rid of the ones I made the kids last year. I'm near Columbus.
My daughter wanted to be Elsa all year. ALL FREAKIN' YEAR.
DS wanted to be Olaf. DH has always wanted to dress our house like Christmas for Halloween. Just to be weird.
I thought we could dress it as a snowy Arendelle.
And now DD wants to go as some Monster High shit.
My kids are going to be among the many Elsa and Olafs, provided I can get the costumes finished in time and my son will actually wear it. Since I make their costumes, I've told my daughter she's not allowed to change her mind once it's started.

To far away or I would. We just finished my son's 11 Doctor outfit, and he spent all evening shooting me with his screwdriver.

I'm going to attempt a Tardis costume for my daughter. She'll be 22mnths, so nothing elaborate, not that I could make an elaborate costume. Not that talented, LOL. I found an dark blue sparkly tutu and I'm on the hunt for same color in a long-sleeved onsie and tights. I'll go out and buy felt to make the windows and signs. I'm hoping it'll all come together.

I made my son one last year and I could give you some tips if you want. For that matter, he was about the same age; I could give you the costume. Obviously not a tutu, though.

If your son wants to wear a tutu that's none of my concern.
I'm in MA though so I think maybe a costume exchange might be difficult. How did you make the window and signs for the "box"?

Here's what it looked like. I cut squares in the felt and glued white fabric on the inside so it would come through. For the signs, I just glued letters on the felt. It's not the most commercial-looking product, but it worked.

Those are both ADORABLE! I was thinking of writing in black marker for the small sign, maybe not all the words, but "waves" to make it seem like words, and gluing letters for the police box.
