Am I the only one who sometimes looks in the fridge and realizes that we are out of food?
I've run low but I've never run out of food. We always have things like eggs, bread, pasta, eggo waffles etc. Even if I truly ran out of food there are several stores close by for something quick.

Ok, but are eggo waffles any different than uncrustables?
I have pasta, etc, but i can't pack that in a brown bag lunch.
my point was, if I was packing a lunch daily, and if my kids would eat these premade sandwich things, I would be all over having some in my freezer. Would I feed it to them everyday? No. It I think this is a dumb thing to judge someone else on.
I just can't imagine anything easier to make than a PB&J sandwich. Or easier to stock in the house.
There might not be anything easier to make, but it's easier to not have to make anything. They're premade and kept in the freezer. I don't see why the convenience of this seems to be beyond some people's comprehension.
That said, I've never tried one. But now I kinda want to.
I'm not thinking that its easier than to not to have to make anything. I'm thinking that of all the things that they can produce on a wide scale to feed kids and make lunches easier to prepare - why did they have to invent a solution to making PB&J? It has to be the easiest sandwich I make DD. There is so little appeal to replace such an easy sandwich anyway. Give me something that's REALLY going to save me a good amount of time/effort.
I'm just LOLing because I had never heard of these things until a few days ago when I read they were good to stick in your Disney World cooler. Wanna know what's not MM? Buying an Uncrustable AT WDW.

These threads assure me I am a crap mom. Mostly I do not buy bc they are pricey for what they are, but if they go BOGO I will gladly throw a few boxes in the freezers when I realized I ran out if bread at the end of the day or I am literally just too freaking tired to pull out obj fixings and a knife to cut the crusts I am a sahm, I have no excuses.

I actually don't judge someone for sending an uncrustable once in a blue moon if they like them. I just don't think that they are really that necessary as a back up. I've run really low on our lunch stable for my daughter and I've just been able to run out and buy stuff at the store for the most part.
FWIW I've sent pasta for lunch many times. My 3 year old can eat it out of thermos. He also gets soup sometimes too.

I wouldn't buy these because I generally find convenience foods to be way more expensive than just buying the components myself, but I'm certainly not going to act like my homemade PBJ with the store brand HFCS-filled jam is any healthier. So I'd be more like, "Look at that rich bitch with her pre-made round PBJ. Must be nice."

What's even worse, is buying an uncrustable at Disney, then having to buy something else because your kids won't eat them. {hangs head in MM shame}.

1. We have a 4 page thread on uncrustables. MMM has officially lost it. I thought the constant pouch talk was bad.
2. Do other people see what your kids eats? Besides lunch aids?
3. We do school lunch. If they want to be little heathens PB&J is always on option on top of 4 other choice. Plus they are forced to get items from the salad bar. So why waste money on uncrustables?
I packed an uncrustable for C at the metro Detroit MMM GTG. I also gave one of their poor children an extra one I had. Do you think this is why there has only been one metro Detroit MMM GTG? Oh! Or maybe this is why I've only known about one!
Oh, also - warm PB & J is yucky to me. I like these because they are still cold at lunch if I throw them in the bag when we leave the house in the morning.
"PB& J is like the easiest thing to make." "I don't understand why you cant just make your own sandwich."
Seriously people?
When you are dealing with an unruly toddler in the morning and a newborn you are most likely already late before you even put your shoes on. Next step? Open the freezer. DONE. What more do I need to explain?

It gave us something to talk about at the 4 we've had since then.
There is actually a how-to about making a PBJ with the crusts cut off? This requires steps to be posted?
Mind blown
When I was in elementary school, we had an assignment where we had to write out step by step instructions on how to make a pb&j. I got marked off for not specifically putting to remove the lids on the jars. I'm still mad about it.
We do this lesson every year when talking about the scientific method.

OMG! That was me right? Did DD eat it? I don't even remember. I'm too cheap to buy them (and I don't like PBJ) so she probably thinks you are a the best ever!
Confession: not only do I not like PBJ, I don't like pop tarts either. Never have.
Let's do another GTG. You name it, I'm there. I'm still starving for adult interaction.

Maybe I'll just pack my kid uncrustables so all the judgey insane moms and teachers will know to steer clear of me by the time open house rolls around because I'm not their people.
It's like the kiddie version of the horse head in bed threat. They were warned.
DD1 asked for pb&j for dinner. Should I give her an uncrustable? She calls them "circle pbj"
This is a better name. I am getting irrationally annoyed at the name. "-able" should mean the crust has the ability to be removed, not that it's already been removed. Also, why "un" and not "de?"
I came into this thread on page 3 and now I'm really invested, obviously.

Yup, it was your kid. I hope she didn't grow a third eye or anything.
I'm totally down for another GTG. IF we're doing kids again, I vote for a cider mill. Cider and donuts are my favorite part of fall. If we're not doing kids, I can be persuaded to visit just about any bar in Royal Oak. Thoughts?

No third eye, but I'm sure all the camels at the zoo judged her hard on that one.
OMG I would never, ever, ever let my kid eat an uncrustable. Ever. You couldn't pay me.
Because she's allergic to peanuts and could die. But we have earned several free books thru Kelloggs thanks to our consumption of Eggo waffles and pop tarts.
