What a wonderful recap and it truly gives me perspective and inspiration. I'm one of those people that is really hard on myself if I don't hit my goals. So this really inspires me to keep my chin up no matter what.
I know that I will be cheering you on as you cross the finish line at Kiawah with your BQ.
Thank you so much for posting your story. I think that your inner reflection of what you accomplished as opposed to what you may have considered "not" accomplished shows true humility and appreciation for yourself. Sure, goals are great, but the feeling you had which was so positive and amazing is what really counted in the end.

It sounds like a really good race for you despite not accomplishing the goals you wanted. 4-ish hours out there alone with your thoughts is never easy. And downhills are not my friend either! You learned a lot from this experience and will kill it even more next time!

Congrats to you on finishing a tough race!
I've had the same mental dialogue before, albeit in a half marathon, about being halfway and knowing your goal has slipped away. I can't imagine having to run another 13 miles after that.
Congrats on your very tough finish! I loved your recap, you have such amazing perspective. You are such a strong, amazing woman, and I know you have a BQ in your future.
Love your recap. I also love your perspective, especially since I'm days away from my next marathon. Go kick Kiawah's butt! You got this! Congrats again.

I don't know if it is obvious already by all my gushing and obsessive FB likes, but I am so in awe of you and what you did. I know it isn't what you wanted but it was hella impressive.
Also, funny story, Pix and I were worried we were going to miss you at the finish because we made that one last stop and then it took forever for us to be able to pull in to the parking lot (damn other runners in the way!). We made it, though.

That was an amazing recap. Your perspective is truly inspiring. It's ladies like you on this board who keep me going out there, even when self-doubt is at its highest.
I love your perspective !! You are amazing, inspiring, and a BAMF! I was already excited to go to Kiawah, but now I won't be able to to contain myself as I watch you kick some ass there.

Love the recap. And love that you were able to finish a tough race with your daughter.
As others have said - you most definitely have what it takes to qualify for Boston. And if you're willing to travel to Washington there is a slightly downhill Boston Qualifying course here where almost everyone has a HUGE PR.
Congrats finishing another marathon. A great recap and amazing perspective. This is a great reminder and mantras to have during each of our events. The finish line with your child is such an awesome memory to share. Thanks for the inspiration!
Okay, so I just thought of another reason why it needs to be Kiawah, taratru. al320! Her pre-race hugs must be good luck. I gave you my good luck gif, but you didn't get the hug from her that I got. I also think small races & flat courses are good luck. Yep. It looks excellent for Kiawah!

What an inspiring read! Sorry it didn't pan out exactly like you hoped for, but like others said, I have no doubt we'll be stalking you on Marathon Monday in the future
