Madeline Grace was born on Monday July 23, 2012 (via induction) at 3:10pm. She was 6 lbs 4 oz and 19 inches long.
We got to the hospital at 6:00 and I was put on the Pitocin at 6:30. I was group B strep, so I also got my first dose of Penicillin then as well. I was slowly progressing and the midwife came and broke my water at 10:30, which really got my contractions going. I got my epidural at around 11:15 (wonderful, wonderful thing that epidural is). At around 2:15 or 2:30, my nurse came in and checked me and I was around 7 centimeters. About 15 minutes later, I could feel an enormous amount of pressure. In that small amount of time, I went from 7 centimeters to a crowning head. My labor was a breeze; I was incredibly lucky. I pushed a total of 4 cycles and she was out! Everything went perfectly with minimal tearing. She also looks exactly like MacKenzie did right down to her nose, her mouth, and her little dimple chin!
She is an absolute dream baby, which is wonderful because MacKenzie was a colicky baby because of the GERD! She feeds and sleeps beautifully. She only really cries when she wants something and loves to cuddle, which is the complete opposite of MacKenzie. MacKenzie is becoming a great big sister. She loves to help mommy with everything and does so with great care. She can't say Madeline, so she calls her Baby Lion. It is so stinkin' cute!
I'll post a link to my facebook album, so you can see some pictures if you would like. Still don't know the format of this page, so I am not sure if I made the link clicky but I made it smaller. tinyurl.com/ctvho4s
Congratulations!! So happy for you and your family. Little babies are the best. And I love the name Grace. If we were having a girl, that's the name we would be using.
