Question! Shouldn't you have been wearing a face shield thing? Both doctors delivering T wore those face shield things.
No one has specifically taught me to wear a face shield during delivery at the hospitals I've been in, but clearly I've learned my lesson that it wouldn't be a bad thing to have around! But it isn't the first time bodily fluid has gotten somewhere unfortunate :?

That is awesome!
I was too concerned about what felt like the Dr standing on me while trying to get a baby out during my csection to be annoyed by any small talk between her and the resident(?)/Attending(?). Lol!
This is so awesome! I delivered at a teaching hospital and it was kind of cool to have med students in and out- they were all so interested in what was going on with my vagina. Lol.

I'm so happy you found something you love! Having only been on the mom-end of things, you really do feel like a Rockstar after having a baby, so it's cool to hear you sound so excited about delivering the baby.
My OB has been doing her job a long time and still tells people (and her actions confirm it) that she loves her job. You're going to be great!
I had a student MW deliver my DS. She was really good and I was impressed with her. She told me it was her first birth and it was cool to go through it together.
Quick question - when do they decide to do an episiotomy? I've never known a mom to get one and I wondered if it was up to the Dr or if it's something not done as much anymore?
When my water broke with DD1, it exploded all over my OB's head. And since I'd been having chronic abruptions during my pregnancy it was basically all bloody fluid. She didn't even blink an eye and KOKO. She ran and took a shower between contrax and I never noticed she was gone

Yeah it's definitely not routine. It's totally up to the doctor.
The baby was having some decels, it was a first time mom and we were trying to stretch tissues as much as we could, but it didn't look like it was going to fit. I think we let her push through 3-4 more contractions before the doctor told her we were going to make a small cut. Baby was born on the next contraction. She didn't tear anymore than the cut because the doctor said I gave good perineal support, so I was happy I did it correctly!
