Not the board on TN. The private board here that they migrated to a few weeks ago.
that's the one I thought you were talking about. if I remember right you had to be a regular poster and maybe even have a food blog to join their new board...
We don't need them. Godo riddance. I can't even imagine what they are talking about now. Here's my blog. No, here's my blog. Barf. Here's google with access to zillions of blogs but no conversation.
I enjoyed reading the daily blog update post on the Nest's What's Cooking board.
Then there was some kind of chatter about not wanting to just give away their recipes to people who don't contribute, or something like that. WTF is the point of cookbooks, then?

this was extra annoying b/c they would all make the same thing. one poster makes chicken pot pie, two days later someone else makes it, then someone else, etc. but it's totally a different recipe b/c "i added more salt!" or "i replaced chopped baby carrots with shredded carrots."
There is one here. I visit regularly, but it's pretty dead.
I'm hoping people won't give up on it and will keep posting over there to drum up more posters. The entertaining blog on the old site was pretty dead, and WC slowed tremendously after the proboard started.
I plan on at least contributing to the blog update thread, I just haven't updated by blog in a few days.

I agree with the good riddance sentiment.
I love to cook, but I never felt welcome there because I didn't have a blog. And I hated asking for a recipe and getting "check the chicken tag in my blog." I enjoy conversation on a board, not just links to blogs.
We want new posters. We just would rather not have the posters be people who hate on our hobbies.
I get that, but it is frustrating when I got an email from a moderator asking me why I want to join the board and giving me 7 days to reply, and they then going ahead and deny my request only 2 days later, before I had a chance to reply.
If arbitrary rules are going to be put out to people (ie, replying within 7 days) the mods should at least follow them. I was planning on playing by the rules and responding, but that just pissed me off. It isnt' a great way to go about getting new posters.

Wow, I can't believe the mods did that. I didn't think WC was denying anyone. I'm sure it was a mistake or at least I'm hoping it was. The board wasn't set up to be selective!
