Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness, and many of our people need it sorely on these accounts. Broad, wholesome, charitable views of men and things cannot be acquired by vegetating in one little corner of the earth all one's lifetime. Mark Twain
For European train travel, I always book the most basic seat. It's going to the same place at the same speed, and the difference in seats, comfort, amenities is negligible IMO.

You can book directly through Thayls, but you may also want to look at RailEurope. If you put your tickets in your cart, but don't purchase them, within a matter of 5 days, you should get a "you forgot something email" with $25 off promo code.
Price compare btwn direct site and RailEurope with the $25 off to see what's cheaper.
Comfort 2 (which I think is the lowest level of seats) is fine, right?
Yes, it's perfectly comfortable.
We went from Paris to Brugges (also on Thalys) and I ordered our tix through the Eurostar website b/c it worked out to be cheaper than through the Thalys site. So you might want to search around a bit before you order.
