My DS was a chunker so he could sit for about 5 minutes at 4.5 months if I sat him there, kind of tripod style. By six months he could sit pretty well.
I need to avoid this place today. I can't get sucked in!
N sat a little before five months, but I think he was early.
My boss gave me today off paid so I sent N to daycare and have big plans to get a massage, watch TV shows my H doesn't like, read, and maybe take a nap. I am so excited!
J was able to sit around 6 months. He's sitting in my sig and that was 6 months exactly. We were hovering though because he did sometimes topple.
I want to do photos with he changing leaves. I read an article that said michigan is peaking in it's leaf changing. Guess I need to contact a photog. I can't decide if someone just starting is a good choice. She's only 50 bucks for 2 hours and a disk of all photos! The pics she took of a FB friends wedding are nice.
He started sitting at 6 months but was still reeeeally wobbly. By 7 months he was good to go.
Since I am going to be in the office one morning a week now, I'm going to miss two BF sessions. I've started pumping in the am to build a freezer stash because I only pump like 2 oz/session so in order to leave two 5 oz bottles I need to pump five times. Ughhh. Today... Only pumped one ounce. I am so so lucky that it's only one morning a week and I didn't have to rely on the pump until now since I obviously don't respond to it.
I'm hoping to get away with not pumping at work. I will miss nursing around 8 and 11 or 12. I will nurse at 5 am, pump around 6 and then get home around 1 pm and can nurse or pump then. Does that sound okay or is it too far off from the bottles/will it mess up my supply 1x/week? I can pump at work or in the car if I need to I guess.. (He is almost 8 months.)
Citrus Lane fail, we got our $7 box yesterday and apparently I put E's birth year wrong, so we got the baby box. DH and E were like WTF. I was a bit pissed that they had me setup for auto delivery, umm no, I picked just 1 month. I just cancelled everything and fixed E's birthdate should I want to try again.
I stayed up too late watching the Royals game last night but WORTH IT. Holy crap.
C didn't sit until closer to 7.5 months, but he has always had an off-the-charts huge head and was on the later end of normal for a lot of physical milestones his first year. Our pedi wasn't concerned.
I feel kind of like an idiot for calling my OB about what are probably just spider veins. I'm the only one in the office today and really shouldn't leave for an ultrasound or appointment. Waiting for a callback.
Inspired by the thread last week, I gave DD scrambled eggs for breakfast this morning. She LOVED them and was mostly able to feed herself, so I actually got to eat my own eggs before they got cold! I hope she's not allergic because this would be a great morning routine for us, since I usually make eggs for myself anyway.

I knew it was auto-renewal but I was annoyed that in order to cancel you have to receive your box first and cancel before the billing date. My estimated date to receive the box was 10/1, same as billing date. Fortunately I received it 9/29. I actually took advantage of their offer for a second box at $15. I thought it was worth it for that price.
Home with DD again. I think we will venture out to Target (I have to pick up an Rx). We are currently watching Daniel Tiger and DD is eating goldfish from the bag. LOL.

Can you pump once daily for your stash? You may be able to get away with not pumping one morning a week, but def take your pump in case you feel engorged - a full boob signals your body to slow down production. Personally, I liked the forced break of a pumping session and purposely brought a magazine for my 'break time.'
As an aside, I'd recommend speaking to an LC about pumping. Sometimes a small change to the way you pump or the flange size or something can make all the difference in the world.
DD was sitting up alone at 6 months. She was always on the early side of milestones though. I would PIP a picture of her at 5 1/2 / 6 months sitting but you know.....last night.....
My random is that I'm wearing the Matty M leggings again today! Yesterday I wore the black ones with a tunic and today I'm wearing the grey ones with a black dress and some flats. Leggings for lyfe!!!

Our box came yesterday and I had to cancel yesterday. I couldn't renew with the discount and change her age. No biggie, girlfriend has plenty of toys. I might look into it after the holidays.
My h and A rode scooters to her school this morning. She has gotten so fast that it is hard to keep up with her on foot. My h borrowed a scooter to see if he likes it, and is buying one for his birthday. Great! More wheeled things!
M was mad that he didn't get to go and followed me around crying, all morning. I finally threw him on my back and walked him to school. I think the carrier snuggles helped, because he was smiling when I walked out.
E sits at 5 months but it's not like she puts herself in the sitting position.
I wish I felt comfy posting pics. She is so beautiful! And cute. I still look at her and cry because she is such a joy - is this normal?
How do you differentiate between postpartum depression and the depression/anger that can come from just being stressed out? Or not depression but frustration?
It's tough to explain but I feel on edge lately. Never around E - in fact, being with her calms me down immensely, she just makes me so happy - but I find myself struggling with a desire to have some time for myself. At the same time, it kills me to be away from her all day, so I don't want that time to come from our weekends together. Nights are my only option and I'm exhausted so I go to bed after I do bedtime, daycare/milk prep, dinner, mail, and whatever NEEDS to be done any given night. It's not like I can go get a pedicure, shop, or meet friends at that point, anyway.
I keep having trouble falling asleep after DD2's 2 am feeding. All the weird anxiety thoughts happen then. Last night I was stressed about how to do morning naps once she stops sleeping in the carrier with an on the go 2 year old sister. Do we just limit morning activities for awhile? Hope she sleeps in the car and takes better naps later in the day?
DD1 was (still is) a sleeper, but we've been able to revolve around her schedule, so I have no idea how to handle 2 different schedules.
M didn't sit until around 6.5 months hence his 6 month pictures were not that great.
@marshmallows that is really annoying. You are good friend for even attempting to try and make it after the first schedule change. Some one just did that with our block party. Asked for dates everyone wanted. It was clear that the majority voted for one date but low and behold it is on another date that she wanted because it was better for her (she could have done the other date). I was really tempted to write back and ask why even bother to have people vote??
I desparately need new work pants. I am tempted to buy petits so I don't have to hem them but I am 5'4 so worried they will fit funny.

The last couple of days (since I found out is be working) I've been pumping in the morning a couple of hours after his first feed. Yesterday I got 2 oz at least. Lol.
I think in going to buy a hand pump and see if that works better for me. Plus then I can stick it in my work bag just in case. I've hanged flange sizes, gotten new parts from ameda, changed out the little white things and nada. I'm hoping if I consistently pump in the mornings my output with increase then.

When you pump at 6am, will you be pumping one side you didn't nurse? Or just pumping both sides? Even in the morning, I don't think you'll get much just an hour after nursing. Waiting from 6am until 1pm should be okay. You'll be uncomfortable but your supply is established enough that it shouldn't mess with things. You might need to hand express or pump 1 side if your LO only nurses from 1 side at 1pm.
Your body may adapt to the pump - it certainly took me a while. If you really want to get things going, can you try nursing 1 side in the morning and pumping the other? Do you have a hands free bra? I find pumping at work pretty low stress since I can do it while working.
humpforfree try massaging when you pump, taking slow relaxing breaths, looking at baby pics. Also, handexpressing. I pump well but can often squeeze out another ounce after pumping.
