I am trying to read more. I used to read a LOT before C came along and I want to get back to it.
I am not really into nonfiction and parenting books are not my thing so I was wondering if anyone wants to do a fiction book club with me? We could rotate "leaders" who pick the book and lead the discussion (which is basically just throwing out some initial questions or thoughts).
I love this in theory, but already tensed up at the idea of having to pick a book and lead a discussion. Introvert to the nth degree.
But I'd probably be in
I mean honestly, I don't mind leading the discussion if someone chooses not to. I just don't want to always pick the book. I also don't really want to open it up to a vote each month because part of the purpose of a book club is exposing ourselves to options we would not normally choose for ourselves.
So, if it's ok with people, I'll choose a book today and throw it in this thread and tag people.
Does one month seem like enough time for everyone? We could get into the habit of choosing the book the first of each month maybe.
And yes, the more time to read, the better. Although, like all the other book clubs I'm in/have been in, I'll be starting it 2 days before it's "due" ;-)
