The Ikea one doesn't go as flat, and I don't like the colors. (We don't have it, but had considered buying.)
Additionally, I bought an pop-up Ikea tent and hate it. I may actually return it the next time we're there. It doesn't open square at all. Ours is probably defective, as it doesn't stand flat, and is very warped. Bummer! www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/60243576/
We actually love our Ikea tunnels & tent. The tent should absolutely fold flat/stands straight up and our tunnel is only about 4" when collapsed. For the price,

We have the caterpillar tunnel and like it. It can still roll with the feet, but it more or less stays in one place. And it definitely folds up flat.

DD will be two a few days after Christmas. Last year, we got her shelves and a rug for her playroom. She gets so much stuff, I felt like she really didn't need any more toys from us, and we can probably only get away with not getting her those type of gifts for another year or so

DD will turn 4 right before Christmas. Her gifts will be mixed between birthday and the holidays (Hannukah for us).
She's asked for: -an electric train -a flying fairy (we saw these demo'd at Walmart and a friend has one)
She'll also get: -silver ballet slippers necklace with book -a princess doll, maybe Pocahontas -clothing, I'm sure -hair accessories, probably two headbands and a bow -a leotard for gymnastics
Pros: well, first and foremost it's TMNT so that's awesome. It doesn't take up as much floor space as, say, a baby pool with balls in it. Having it open on only two sides makes it slightly easier to contain the balls. And the hole in the top is great for lowering your kid through headfirst while you hold onto their ankles. If that's what floats your kid's proverbial boat, at least. Me=MOTY.
Cons: It's inflatable, so either you're blowing that bitch up or hooking up an air pump. Though it's been blown up since late July and I've only had to add more air to a couple of parts once. It only comes with 20 balls so getting more balls definitely helps. I got a bag of 100 for $15 at Meijer and that's been the perfect amount. And your kid may try to climb up the side so he can climb through the hole in the top himself, after you've lowered him through it a few too many times. Oops.
All in all though? Two very enthusiastic thumbs up.
FIL likes to do one big gift and I'm going to ask him for the Guidecraft Step Up Kitchen Helper.
Santa is bringing a mini trampoline with bar.
I ordered her a satin Super Hero cape off etsy because she currently uses all clothing as capes. I have the Busy Bug Book and the Green Toys Tool Box stored away.
Other things on her list (she won't get all of this): IKEA Circus Tent Little People Stuff Toy Vacuum and Broom Puzzles Little Tykes Basketball FP My First Dollhouse A Fishing Toy Thingy Art Stuff Trunki and Saddlebags Joovy Tricycle
Following. Everything I want to get for DS is way out of our price range, womp womp. I really want a play set for the new backyard but we totes don't have the money for that. Boo. In reality:
Train/Lego table Big boy bedding set Doll? He loves his friend's dolls Matchbox ramp
I just added trains to his Wish List since it didn't have enough bigger things for my parents/ILs. Is the Melissa and Doug set good? I already have a train table (it's currently our coffee table). I feel like he's too young for trains but he will probably enjoy them at some point.
From Santa Dress up trunk filled with: Costumes/dresses (4) Headbands, tiara, hats (police, construction, fire fighter), sword/shield, capes
From us Books (2 Olivia ones, 2 If you Giveā¦, Zoo book) Memory game Floor puzzle Monkey jumping on the bed game Cherry picking game Markers
Everything is bought and ready to be wrapped. I am tempted to get a couple 24 piece puzzles since she is doing the 16 piece ones now, but don't want to overload her.
A trip to Disney! And whatever they ask Santa for. DD1 has already circled the outfit she wants for her doll. I suspect DS will ask for a lego set. No idea about the 2 year old, and she has a birthday right after, so I'm going to need ideas.
Bought: - A bunch of books from the Scholastic Book thing at his preschool - Easel from Ikea with paper and coloring supplies
On his wish list: - Super hero cape - Octonauts play set - Books - Puzzles - Keyboard someone posted recently - Magnatiles - Toy vacuum (that works) - Toddler camera
DS has requested the Lego ice breaker ship. It's back ordered online til December but I stopped at the Lego store today (double VIP points this month!) and they had it. So that is set and will be the big thing from us.
He's been asking for a bow and arrow so that may be the Santa gift. Alternatively he's been asking for a Lego table to go in his room when we buy FIL's house in the spring so maybe we will make that as his gift. Planning on two ikea trofast units (we have one of them already) with plywood on top. It has to be "big enough to make a Lego city".
I've gone overboard previous years and really want to cut down on number of gifts this year. Someone mentioned the phrase "want, need, wear, read". I might do that, plus a Santa gift and stocking. The Lego table would be his "need" as he really needs a better Lego setup.
