Can someone who has seen them and knows tell me what is up with the fingers? It looks like there are holes(??) in them? I'll fully cop to knowing absolutely nothing about this stuff.
That's what the photographer was referring to when he was pointing out necrosis. The tissue is dead and decaying due to (surprise!) lack of blood/nutrients.

Omg the pictures
I don't know what is happening in this case. I just don't understand the "being released to the coroner" and then having experts say she's alive. I just can't wrap my head around it. My heart gives out to her mom, I just can't even imagine

This tumblr site has some photos that were posted by the mother on IG. You can kind of see the necrosis.
there is so much on that site that's incredibly disturbing.
Holy shit....the "ass whooping" stick with a name on it. Yikes! Those Instagram (?) pics were nuts, plain and simple. She has been nuts awhile, since it said these were before her daughter's operation.
Eta: ok I had to stop reading that link. Her younger daughter choked a kid out at school because she "misses mommy", that makes me so so sad for that little girl. I didn't know she has another child. She posted a pic and said they have to keep the hospital bed rails up because "this child won't stay still". OMG

The photos showing necrosis are disturbing for many reasons, but especially because a decaying human body is going to smell horrific. I don't even want to think about what's happening there.
And again, this makes me sad for that family, that in the face of everything they are still unable to let her peacefully go. I don't want to judge anyone's grieving process, but I feel like this level of denial can't be healthy.

Her kidneys can't be functioning, can they? I mean, do they have her on a catheter? I can't really think about this too much.
ETA: I just keep going back to how no one makes this decision. Which is why it's news. I mean, some people are better able to accept brain death than others. Some people fight harder when there are very few signs of life, vs taking their loved ones off life support, depending on their own feelings... but really, no one has done THIS, AFAIK.
The first post on that tumblr is supposedly from the facility where she is staying. They're asking for donations, including back to school clothes, because she is going home.

this is going to sound really mean, but i dont think they are in denial. i think they know she is dead and at this point is just looking for a way to cash in.
I think homegirl has a mental illness. Something like Munchausen. When she's finally forced to let Jahi go, I hope someone is watching her children.

These people break my heart and piss me off at the same time. Some of the pictures/posts don't paint the mom in the best light, but I feel that's almost saying that she's not allowed to live or enjoy her life because of what's going on with Jahi. I'm not sure if I'm articulating my thoughts clearly. I will say that I'm surprised that Jahi looks relatively "well." Maybe I'm morbid, but I expected much, MUCH worse than this.
However, any medical "professionals" complicit in this are absolutely horrible people. They're not swamped by grief, they're consumed by greed and the desire for notoriety.

I'm curious why she is going home.
Do you think the facility she is at said "enough is enough"?

Money is running out.
The post was asking for donations so I think this is correct. I couldn't find the original post though so I'm not 100% sure it was real. That might be wishful thinking.
I haven't thought about this story in such a long time. What would declaring her alive do? Maybe get disability pay or something? The right to go to school?
I am morbid, I wonder what is going on with her body.
When I heard it on the news, they said that if she is declared alive, then someone else will be paying the bills. They didn't specify exactly who that would be. So, it sounds like they are running out of money.

This is absolutely horrifying, most of all for that poor other child(ren???). I can't imagine living your life neglected because your mother is too consumed with caring for the body of your dead older sister. JFC.
SO does she move? This whole thing just confuses me.
The first video I was like "okay where's the string?". The second video seems more convincing. Not when she moves her hand, but the way her body moved at the end. I used to be a RN in a Pediatic ICU and she definitely reacted how a child with a anoxic brain would when stimulated. Whether or not that was faux is the question....
