How often do you travel for your anniversary? every other year, our anniversary is July 5, so it depends on how the holiday falls
What was your favorite anniversary trip? We took a Mediteranean cruise for our first anniversary - a delayed honeymoon - it was awesome.
What do you have planned for a BIG number (5, 10, etc.)? we have a plan for #10
Any plans on doing a vow renewal for an anniversary trip? Are you inviting people along?* Our 10 year reunion is this summer, we are going to Vegas and renewing our vows with Elvis (DH's request), six friends will be joining us for the trip. DH loves Vegas and we thought this would be fun, especially as we got engaged there. We told our group of friends our plan and some have decided to join us. Totally low key, we'll do the renewal and a nice dinner as a group. But, like any other activity in Vegas, there was no pressure to join in - one couple is staying at an off-strip hotel, four of us will see a show together, etc.
Post a picture of a place you want to go on an anniversary. Totally beyond my skill level!

How often do you travel for your anniversary? We've been traveling for 3 out of 6 anniversaries, so far. But none of those trips were explicitly "for our anniversary."
What was your favorite anniversary trip? Our RTW trip
What do you have planned for a BIG number (5, 10, etc.)? We were on a half-year RTW trip on our 5th anniversary, but the trip isn't explicitly for our anniversary. I like the idea of traveling somewhere really cool for our 10th, but most likely we will have little babies by then (~2 and ~0 if things go according to plan), so maybe not great timing. 15 is too far in the future to start thinking about...
Any plans on doing a vow renewal for an anniversary trip? Are you inviting people along?* I tried to do a vow renewal on our 5th anniversary and our RTW trip. Didn't invite other people and DH either forgot or thought I was joking... so he was utterly unprepared. Not sure if I'll try that again, but if I do, I'm going to make sure DH knows I'm serious. I'm generally not for traveling with other people.
Post a picture of a place you want to go on an anniversary. I don't have anywhere in mind at the moment. This is where we went for our 5th anniversary.

How often do you travel for your anniversary? We're coming up on our 2nd anniversary next month and have a trip to Jamaica booked. Last year, we closed on our house 2 days after our anniversary, so we didn't go anywhere for the 1st one.
What was your favorite anniversary trip? N/A
What do you have planned for a BIG number (5, 10, etc.)? I'd like to go to Hawaii since we originally planned that for the HM, but chose Fiji instead for our 5th. For the 10th I'd love to go to Tahiti or Thailand. Somewhere back over towards the South Pacific again like we did for our HM, but we need to save up a lot for and take substantial time off for.
Any plans on doing a vow renewal for an anniversary trip? Are you inviting people along?* No plans for a vow renewal. I've honestly never understood vow renewals unless the couple has been through a lot and wants to resolidify their marriage.
How often do you travel for your anniversary? We've never really tied travel to anniversaries. I don't really see the point. I like to travel, but what's the connection?
What was your favorite anniversary trip? n/a
What do you have planned for a BIG number (5, 10, etc.)? We didn't travel "for" 5. We happened to go to Italy 6 months before, and we'll happen to go to the Grand Canyon 3 months after.
Any plans on doing a vow renewal for an anniversary trip? Are you inviting people along?* Nope. I don't feel the need. Said the vows once, and they don't expire.
Post a picture of a place you want to go on an anniversary. My travel "wants" list has nothing to do with anniversaries.

Really? I don't think it's a mystery - some people like to travel for birthdays or other special occasions because that's their preference of gift. Especially for anniversaries, when you're celebrating your relationship, getting away just the two of you can be nice. I don't think barbecues or golf clubs have anything to do with weddings, but I'm not surprised that people might gift them for anniversaries.

How often do you travel for your anniversary? So far we've only had one anniversary, but we have traveled over our anniversary date in September for the past 5 years. This will be the first year we're traveling some other time.
What was your favorite anniversary trip? Last year we were in Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe for our anniversary. That was pretty awesome.
What do you have planned for a BIG number (5, 10, etc.)? We travel pretty big every year, so nothing special planned. But then again, 5 is still 3 years away. Maybe we'll come up with something even bigger before then. ;D
Any plans on doing a vow renewal for an anniversary trip? Are you inviting people along?* Nope, no plans. But I feel like ours are still pretty new after only two years.

How often do you travel for your anniversary? We've always celebrated our "when we first met" anniversary but never planned a trip around it. Our first wedding anniversary is coming up and we'll celebrate it by going back to where we got married. We had a destination wedding.
What was your favorite anniversary trip? I guess this upcoming one will be our favourite, at least until the following one
What do you have planned for a BIG number (5, 10, etc.)? Nothing yet.
Any plans on doing a vow renewal for an anniversary trip? Are you inviting people along? Yes, we're planning a vow renewal in Italy (where we're both from) for our 3rd anniversary. Friends and family will be invited, especially since many of them couldn't make it to our destination wedding.

We rarely travel for our anniversary. I travel a good deal for work and have an annual meeting around that time so am lucky just to be home and with DH at that time. If we do leave it's just for a local 'staycation' type thing at the Ritz or something.
We've talked about doing Bali for our 10 year though we wouldn't necessarily time it around our anniversary.
We talked briefly about a vow renewal when we were in Hawaii but didn't for two reasons: 1. The finding the dress, deciding on flowers, photog, etc. was just more wedding planning work - more stressful than fun. 2. The only thing that would have had real meaning to me was the actual vow renewal. The vows I would write now, after everything wonderful and challenging we've experienced together, would be very different that what I wrote on our wedding day. However the reality of reciting this deeply personal thing to DH with ONE random stranger staring at us (the minister) seemed like it would be awkward. Plus at most resorts if you're outdoors it's tough to be TOTALLY isolated from other guests.
Instead we splurged one evening and had a private dinner on the beach and talked about us, our journey, etc. We talked about writing letters/vows to read that night but decided against it.
We've gone away for just about every anniversary since we got married- the benefits of getting married on a holiday weekend (4th of July weekend). Sometimes it has been planned as a just us trip and sometimes it has coincided with a friend's destination wedding (Puerto Rico) or with a big family reunion-type vacation (Florida).
I think my favorite was our five-year trip. We rented a cabin in West Virginia and just cooked and hiked and slept late and read and hung out. It was really, really nice.
For our ten year this year, we're going to the running of the bulls in Pamplona.
No plans to do a vow renewal.
I have no idea how to PIP on these new boards, sorry!
How often do you travel for your anniversary? **Every year we go somewhere to celebrate. Sometimes it has to be part of a different trip (i.e. our anniversary is Oct. Year #4 we had a wedding in Cali in Nov so we left a few days early to go to Vegas to celebrate our anniversary).
What was your favorite anniversary trip? **Ireland for our first anniversary. But we're going to Australia this year so there's potential to top it.
What do you have planned for a BIG number (5, 10, etc.)? **Last year was #5 but we merged it with my birthday trip to Niagara-on-the-Lake. We were living in Virginia Beach at the time and had a bunch of weddings that involved travel/vacation days. So we're doing the blow-out trip this year instead (wedding anniversary #6 but together for 10 years). Right now our next big trip will be Patagonia but we change our minds a lot. If you asked us 5 years ago, we thought we'd be going to Chile for #5 for skiing/wine tasting.
Any plans on doing a vow renewal for an anniversary trip? Are you inviting people along? **We did a vow renewal at a college reunion. We'd been married about 2.5 years. Our college has a huge summer reunion and there's a group vow renewal ceremony before Saturday Mass (it's a Catholic college). None of our friends were there (they were at the bar already) but it was inspiring to be around couples who had been married 1 year, 25 years and more. Many met there, like us, so it was really nice. We've talked about doing it again next summer but we'll see. I don't think we'd do it as part of a different anniversary trip nor would we invite friends/family. I liked it just being us and random couples a few years ago.
