My wonderful neighbors threw a baby shower for me yesterday. It was such a nice get together and I really enjoyed myself. Included were members of the book club that I belong to, the DINKS group that hubby and I have been part of for 8-9 years now, and other neighbors that I know. We had a great meal and cake that was divine!
I have a hard time being the center of attention though, so I'm glad it was only a two hour shower and it went by quickly. Of course now the nursery looks like a hurricane hit it as I have stuff everyone and need to get it sorted and figured out. Only received a few items off the registry and then everything else is just random stuff that people purchased. Unfortunately I will have to return some of it as I already have more than I know what to do with (blankets and onsies are the main thing). I have received quite a few hand me downs from friends and I have bought stuff at garage sales and consignment stores, so I am stocked for infant onsies and blankets. Also received a duplicate item from Target (darn registry!), so will need to return that as well.
I just can't wait for September. I am so excited! Now I have something to work on by getting this stuff sorted, figured out, and put away.
The Target registries are so weird. I bought one of DH's employee's a baby gift last week, I saw them scan the registry, and it's still showing as "not purchased", so I can see how duplicates would happen.
Glad you had an awesome shower! And I thought I got too many blankets too but they are really nice to have actually. The soft fleecy Carters ones are AHmazing. I have 2 but wouldn't even mind a few more. I have one for her to sleep with and one for me to sleep with. Every night we trade them out, that way she has a blanket in her crib that smells like me.
