I'll probably get one of those large bags with individual bags of pretzels or chips. That way if we don't pass them out, we can take them to work with our lunches. If they're in the house, I'm a lot less likely to binge on those than on chocolates.
How much did you spend on treats?
I'm not looking to spend more than $6-8. The supermarket, Target, and Costco near me have several snack options for that price range.
How many kids do you expect?
None We live on a small dead-end street off a business area. Our first Halloween in this house was cancelled because of a freak blizzard, and the second was cancelled because of Superstorm Sandy. No weather cancellations last year and yet we didn't get a single TOTer. I had bought full candy bars and everything.
We won't be passing any out. We live on a very busy road so we don't get any kids (maybe 1-2 per year), they all stick to the surrounding subdivisions.

What are you passing out for Halloween this year?
Assorted Mars candies - Snickers, Milky Way, M&Ms, Twix, Almond Joy Non candy treats - to be determined. Most likely stickers, mini Play Doh & bouncy balls
How much did you spend on treats?
I've spent about $18 on candy, I'll probably spend another $10 on the non-candy treats (I spent $14 on an assorted bag from Costco but it seems overpriced, I might return it & get some at Target instead.)
How many kids do you expect?
50-75? I'm not really sure, last year were just set a bowl out since we were out trick or treating ourselves with DS.
Three Musketeers, Milky Way, Snickers, and Mars Bars.
How much did you spend on treats?
$100
How many kids do you expect?
About 2000. One block away, the entire street does a themed Halloween with decorations and light displays. One year was Pixar movies, another year was haunted Vegas, while another year was fractured fairy tales. Each house picks a different angle on the theme. For example, one house was the zombie chapel of love, another decorated as the dead mobsters retirement home, and so forth. Everyone in the area brings their kids, their nieces and nephews and their friends. Because we are in between this street and the subway, we get a ton of kids. The kids trick or treat from the decorated street to the subway. There are police directing traffic and tons of adults with their children. DH & I will sit on the stoop handing out candy for 3 or 4 hours straight. Amazingly enough the kids, even the teenagers, are super polite and well-behaved. Ages range from babes in arms to mid teenagers. Once we run out of candy, we turn the porch lights off and go inside. Even if there are still kids out trick or treating, they don't bother to ring the bell. It is noisy but it's also a great deal of fun and I love it.
Passing out- an assortment of whatever is on sale combined with the cartwheel coupons from Target
How much will I spend? $50-$60
How many kids? Party at church on the 30th with trunk or treat- 75; at our house on Halloween 100, I think. Last year was our first year in this neighborhood and we weren't home so I am not sure exactly what to expect.
We're only passing out at our daycare's truck or treat. I got a big bag of dum dums for $5. I figure those are pretty age appropriate for most of the kids that'll be there (2-7 year olds). We're putting them in plastic cups (I bought 100 last year on clearance for like 10 bucks) and getting a ping pong so the kids can throw the ball and whichever cup it lands in, that's the one they get. Some will have 1, some will have 10.

This sounds fun and it is nice to see that neighborhoods still get together to celebrate.
Doggy L gets super excited and barks when she sees people. Huge barking dogs are scary for kids. So we don't participate in our building's trick or treating.
I'm still dressing her in costume and taking photos of her though. Poor doggy social behavior does not completely let her off the hook for Halloween.
Well we got a ton of kids last year. Double from the year before. Our neighborhood is the nicest in the area and they come on hayride trailers, carloads, etc... Last year we probably spent $70. So I'd say we will spend around $75-100. We invite over friends, have dinner and cocktails, get out our lawn chairs and enjoy the parade of kids/costumes. We save ourselves the agony of the door bell by parking ourselves out front to pass out candy until it's gone. I bet we had 150 kids last year.

I will hand out a variety of fun size candy, 2 pieces per kid. I spent about $30, but there's plenty of buffer there to account for my pre-Halloween consumption. Last year was our first year in this house and we had about 100 kids on a rainy night. This year Halloween is on a Friday and if the weather is nice, I would think we'd get more kids than last year.

I spent $10 a week ago (before the prices went way up) on about 100 pieces or so- Snickers, Reeces PB Cups, Milky Way, and Hersheys. Last year we got about 75 kids and I expect this year to be the same. We'll just turn off the lights if we run out. I don't want to have extra, as DH doesn't eat sugar and I don't need it laying around!
We spent about $40 on 300 bars. I could see us getting up to 200 kids (new to the neighbourhood, so not sure) so we wanted to be prepared. I love mini chocolate bars, so DH and I wanted leftovers, anyway.
What are you passing out for Halloween this year? Not sure yet. We may not be handing out candy this year b/c we're invited to a party immediately following TOT hours.
How much did you spend on treats? Normally ~$30
How many kids do you expect? an average year is around 500, I'd guess. The front part of our neighborhood sees a much larger number, but we're on the very back street so we don't get quite as many.

We haven't purchased candy yet, but we'll probably buy 5 or 6 big bags, planning for a few hundred trick-or-treaters.
We live in one of the only nice, safe neighborhoods in our city, so we get LOADS of kids---it's the only night of the year when there's traffic in our tiny, quiet neighborhood. We set up a few fire-pits in our neighbors' driveway, and our end of the street has a little block party to hand out candy and drink wine. I love it.
nothing because we'll be at a high school football game! Should be fun...they're doing all sorts of events around it, including "trunk or treat" for the little ones in the parking lot

Just bought some Reece's pumpkins and mini Snickers, Twix and M&Ms today. We get a few trick or treaters but not too many (we live on the 3rd floor of our apartment building). I'll probably take the left-over candy to work or take it with me when I visit my extended family in early November. Spent about $15.

Three Musketeers and Milky Ways. We're gone trick or treating with our kids all night, so we just bought one bag of each just in case some kids show up before we leave or after we get home, so I only spent $5. And I made sure to buy pretty much the only candy that I don't like. I have a big sweet tooth, but those two candy bars never did it for me. Those and Crunch bars. I don't get the appeal.
This is our first year in this neighborhood, which has a lot of original owners and not a lot of little kids. There are lots of kids around the area though. I'm going to get at least one of the costco bags, plus we're going to the Disney party and I plan to pass that candy out too (I don't need it here!).

Full size mixed candy bars. Unfortunately we usually get a whopping 6 trick or treaters. I spent $14 on them at Costco
The first year we were in our house I was so excited for Trick or Treaters, I bought 60 full size bars. We got 3 kiddos and I ate the rest (oops!). I've since scaled it back but love seeing the kids in their costumes... Damn living on a dead end on a hill getting in my way of seeing the cute kiddos dressed up...
We'll hand out a mix of whatever good candy we can find for a decent price. I have a few coupons.
We spend about $200-$250. We live in "the" street for trick-or-treaters and it's usually a steady stream of them for two solid hours. There's a parking lot at the end of the street and the police shut the street down.
I do feel bad that I haven't decorated anything yet though. Last year someone wrote into our newspaper and was all "I took my kid to XYZ street and some of the houses weren't even decorated this year!!" Uh, sorry I didn't drop a few bills on decorations for your kid. Candy ain't cheap, yo.

What are you passing out for Halloween this year? I will tell myself I'm "passing out" reese's peanut butter cups or twix or whatever other candy strikes my pregnant self's fancy when I go to the store. And by "passing out", I mean passing from my right hand to my mouth.
How much did you spend on treats? Depends on how much I'm craving sugar that day, but prob under $10.
How many kids do you expect? Other than the baby in my belly, 0. Our apartment building does Halloween sign up and we never participate since we're never home in time. I'm normally pretty good at resisting Halloween candy, but this year all bets are off.
