We do. You pay more depending on which size garbage bin you get. A local frugal/minimalist blogger recently wrote about how she and her neighbor share a small garbage bin to save money. Recycling and leaf/yard debris are free pick up.

$43 or $48 per quarter. I haven't looked at the bill lately. That is 1x week pick up 5 bags. One oversized item. Every other week recycling. (I'd rather have those reversed, we don't have much actual trash but we have so much recycling compared to trash)
S/o the new house down the street is doing something today and has the street blocked off with construction vehicles, the garbage truck got to my house, but had to back, back down the entire street. My other neighbors aren't going to be happy. They have another side street blocked off.
We pay a ton! We are in an apartment building with 8 units. There is 1 trash can, 1 recycling, & 1 compost. I want to say we paid at least $80 but I can't remember if they bill us every 2 months or every 3 months.

We pay $69 per quarter for weekly trash pickup, bi-weekly recycling, and yard waste collection weekly during months where there is yard waste to be disposed of. We have to provide our own yard waste bags, but the quarterly cost covers the cans for trash and recycling.
I've paid between $20 and $40 a month a various houses. My current house has county trash. Use to be twice a week, but they changed to once a week. Omg is that a stinky mess in the summer. We live on the water and they changed our pickup to Thursday. That Monday picked we lost was the one that picked up everyone's weekend crab and fish mess.
Yeah, but it's rolled into our water/sewer bill which is paid quarterly. We pay about $60 a month for all three, so I don't know the exact breakdown. We use our own trash can, but we have municipal recycling bins. Yard waste is usually a once-a-month pickup and goes in paper yard waste bags or unlined cans.
My dad's town doesn't even do trash pick up anymore. You have to drop off your own trash and PAY per bag (you can buy a punch card for like 12 bags for a discount, I think). The one summer in college I lived with my parents that was my job. I wouldn't use my own car for it, I took my dad's jeep.

Yep, we pay for both trash and recycling. Never did growing up as the town provided service, but that was the olden days. Now it seems to be pretty much the norm that it's privatized and you either make arrangements yourself or the HOA contracts with a company and includes the cost in your monthly fees.

I've never lived in a place where trash pick up was included .... the last time I rented a house we paid something like $80/every other month for trash pick up.

We pay $96 every three months for private trash service which includes trash once a week and single stream recycling every other week. If we didn't pay for this, we'd have to take all our stuff to the town transfer station and pay $2.50/bag to dispose of it (recycling is free but must be sorted). I have no interest in hauling my trash to the transfer station myself.
Yes we pay. Trash is line item included on the city water bill. $18 a month (includes limited recycling) - soon to be $20 a month. In addition to that fee we must also pay for special trash bags @ $1.50 a bag.
We pay $75 a year for recycling every other week and then weekly trash is $2.50 a bag. It's a pain getting the special town trash bags, which suck do we use regular bags and then put in the town bag. We have 1 or 2 bags a week. It encourages recycling. I wish we had weekly recycling.

Not a set amount, but we do need to put a sticker on every trash bin. The stickers are about $3.50 for each bin of trash (33 gallons or under). Leaf/grass clipping bags are cheaper at $2.75 per sticker, but every bag needs a sticker. In the fall, we spend a ton of money on stickers with all the leaf bags.
Recycling is free and highly encouraged, so we recycle as much as possible.

We don't pay for trash because the landfill is in our township and free pick up is part of the deal that was worked out in permitting the landfill to locate here. Fortunately, we're not at all close to it but we get the benefit. Trash and recycling pick up is once a week.

We pay $77 every other month (and that's a significant discount, since everyone on our private road agreed to all go with the same collection company, they gave us a price break). Recycling is free by the county.
