As someone who has been at the hands of an anti-choice doctor at an extremely difficult time, yes I do think that. FTR I got to deal with her fucking bullshit over a wanted pregnancy I was losing I can't even imagine having to be on the end of that with an unwanted pregnancy.
Apparently, I do have it in me tonight.
Well, it's good to know that, though traumatic, your one experience has led you to believe that people should be discriminated against for their political beliefs when applying for a job.

Uh. That is part of the problem.
Abortion should never be a political thing.
Woman's body, WOMAN'S right.

You know, it shouldn't be. But it IS. So to say that I cannot become a nurse just because I don't AGREE with abortions, is discrimination.
Just because I feel a particular way about a medical decision a patient is making, doesn't mean I am going to tell them what *I* think *I* would do. Are you saying that all nurses should be pro-choice or not allowed to be in nursing?
ETA: It also wasn't misguided personal beliefs that led me to losing my job (AND learning a lesson, I might add) but more of a "do I let small children be subjected to drugs and keep my mouth shut, or do I say something?" Ultimately, I made the right call, but paid for it.
I have no idea what happened here, but why didn't you call CPS? Maybe I don't even want to know about this story.
I did. But to have the proof I needed to make that call, I had to look up old records at my job. I knew what was going on, but before I did call CPS, I wanted to be absolutely sure as to not ruin anyones life out of turn. Lesson learned, believe me.

Were you involved in the treatment of the patient? How did you know about the abuse?
Look..It happened almost 2 years ago. It's not something I'm really proud of and I don't really want to talk about it in public. If you want to PM me, I'd be happy to share because I do feel like I ultimately did the right thing, but just had to pay a price. I hope you understand.

You do realize this is incorrect, right? This may just blow your narrow mind but you can be a Republican and be pro-choice, or a Democrat and being against abortion (or any other number of political affiliations and stances). It's not like anti-abortion is an exclusively Republican topic.

VERY LEGIT SOURCES- Youtube and a message board (and a FB group for good measure I believe).

^^ Of course. I said political because abortion is something most people identify with on a political basis. I am Republican but am against banning abortion, and voted for marriage equality. *gasp* I am a rare breed, which is sad.

This is all so precious. All women are in perfect control of their body and reproductive choices. Reproductive choices work perfectly, and if there WERE to be a mistake, there are a million happy, healthy families waiting to pick up a baby who may have medical, developmental, physical, or other issues, and come from less-than-ideal situations. There aren't any foster kids languishing anywhere. There super aren't any kids being abused or starved or told by their mothers that they're tired of them and sent them away to institutions!
WAIT, HOW DARE YOU GUYS NOT TREAT THIS WITH VALIDITY AND RESPECT. ALL SHARTS OF THOUGHT ARE EQUAL, RIGHT?
"You. You and your crazy life. You and your geographic anomaly. You and your drunken lesbianic ways and terrible navigational skills." - ProfArt and her holy baby
Why must someone always make this a race issue? Somehow I think a person who has been struggling to have a baby for years on end, isn't going to care what fucking color their child is. I know I wouldn't.
I agree, adoption has to be hard emotionally. But I would think knowing that you denied someone a life altogether would be even more difficult to live with.
Believe it or not, I think abortion is something that government should stay the fuck out of. Let people do what they want, their the ones who have to live with it. But it still makes me really sad hearing about instances like this where unwanted pregnancies KEEP happening, and a child's life is turned upside down, or ended. Do you kind of see where I'm coming from, without thinking I'm a total bitch? I'm trying to be as polite as I can, while still getting my feelings across.
No, Fuck you! Did you not read the long ass thread on this yesterday you stupid twat? I'm not re-airing my story but suffice it to say that not all adoptive parents are like Jeremys and her DH. There are undocumented pedophiles, sociopaths and child abusers all waiting to adopt and since they don't wear signs no one knows that's what's waiting down the line for the children.
Adoption can be a great Choice for someone not in a position to parent. But guess what? Abortion is another great Choice for those not in a position to parent. Now STFU and go away if you can't get the point of the conversation!

And abusing your power to break laws to hand off info on someone who might not even legit be the person you thought you were actually looking into! JOY! Good luck with that.

I just said...Most people affiliate abortion with politics, which is why I used that word. I don't necessarily feel that way about it. Everything I say always gets so twisted up, it's like whisper down the lane. I'm not on a high horse at all. I have my beliefs, Jermys and I had a good discussion I think, and she gave me a lot of good information without being a total dick about it. I still have my same beliefs, but A) can completely understand why people have different beliefs and B) either way, if it were a patient of mine and not a stranger someone on a message board was talking about, my beliefs would have absolutely ZERO to do with how I treated my patient. So how I feel about it is moot.
Well considering I've already been hired at the place of business I hope to work as a nurse one day, and work in the medical field, I have high hopes.
Bottom line...My personal beliefs have absolutely NOTHING to do with how I treat other people. Personally or professionally.
I don't even know why I'm engaging but you JUST said that you did the right thing by violating a patient's privacy. Based on your personal opinion in that matter. Pick a side.
Were you involved in the treatment of the patient? How did you know about the abuse?

I really, really hope the state board that reviews your application to become a licensed nurse takes a close look at the information you have to disclose as part of the examination of your good professional character. I hope they see you were fired for a massive HIPAA/patient privacy violation that you still, 2 years later, describe as "the right call." Please, Baby Jesus, make this happen.

No, this is not what happened at all. You spewed some really ignorant, hurtful Fox News stereotypes, and Jermys smacked you down in the classiest way possible.
