the first time you said 'I love you'?
I figured I might as well start contributing to the board a little more. So here's something nice and lighthearted lol.
So, yeah. Where were you the first time you said 'I love you' to your SO/FI/DH?
BF and I were laying in my bed. He was watching a movie and I was reading. He leaned his head on my shoulder and asked me what I would say if he told me something important. I told him that it depended on what he had to say. He said "Nothing super crazy, just that I love you". It was pretty stinkin' adorable.
H and I were out to dinner with some of his friends and he kept giving me this weird look all night. I asked him what was going on, and he said he had something to tell me later. I stayed over at his apartment that night and he said "I love you" when we were laying in bed.
It was a Saturday morning and we were lounging on my bed drinking coffee and talking. He said "I'm in love with you" and I said "are you serious? Because I've been forcing myself not to say that for weeks!" And then we got it on. Romance!
H and I (at the 6 month dating mark) were laying on his bed watching a movie (Harry Potter if I remember correctly) and he said he had something he was scared to say and I told him to say it anyway so he said, "I think I love you."
A week prior to that he was hinting that he was going to say it by telling me it wasn't fair that guys had to do all the hard stuff first in relationships. I told him he could carry a child for 9 months, push it out his vagina and then we'd talk about hard stuff in relationships. ;D

When he asked me "to go steady" if you want to call it that.
We were good friends and had just started dating off and on. After the week from hell that included his ex-gf showing up on his doorstep and his grandpa dying, he said something to the effect of "I'm in love with you. I want to be your boyfriend. You amaze me." I had to take it in for a second- I loved him but I wasn't prepared for that all at once.
He told one of my best friends before he came up to me that he didn't think he could live without me and he wasn't happy that we were just dating, so she told him to just tell me how he felt. I'm thankful she was there.

The day before NYE when we were 15, BF (now DH), friends, and I were at the mall talking about the party the next night. Guy friend was ranting about how drunk teenage girls just throw around, "OMG, I love you, boo hoo hoo," around.
NYE I woke up with the plague/food poisoning/flu/death in the form of bodily fluids and I had to miss the party. BF/DH stayed on the phone all night talking to me and at midnight he said, "I'm not a drunk girl, but I love you." "I love you too!" (And then I think I went to puke again).
We were at my roommate's family's lake house for Memorial Day weekend.
We were lying in bed and I said, "I think I'm falling in love with you." He responded that he also thought he was falling in love with me. I then passed out for a few minutes, woke up to him gazing lovingly at me, and said, "Actually, I was lying just then. I KNOW I am in love with you." And he said he was in love with me too.
8 years later we were married Memorial Day weekend.

He sent me an e-mail where he explained that he didn't like to use the word "love" loosely b/c it can fuck up people's heads, but he wanted me to know that he was falling in love with me.
I printed that e-mail and I have still have it around here somewhere.

I was dying to say it for weeks but thought I should wait. One day when we were lying in bed he asked me, "bananapancakes, do you love me?" I said yes and he say, "That's good because I love you too." We were both 21 at the time and that was almost 8 years ago.

We had a ritual of watching the Sunday animation domination thing with Simpsons and Family Guy. We normally ordered in pizza and just holed up for the whole evening. One night he said "I love this." I said "Good. Know what I love.......you." He told me that he could tell I'd been holding it in for a while.
We'd been dating for a couple months, one night had a cocktail or nine, had just finished with the lovemaking, and he kept asking me how I felt about him. I finally said "I'm falling in love with you; is that what you want to hear?" He said "Yeah. Okay, now get off me, I've gotta go throw up."

College dorm room, post sex napping. I said it as we were falling asleep and when we woke up he was like, I think you said you loved me, but even if you didn't I wanted to say I love you. We were 19, 8 years ago. We have a much bigger bed now thank goodness.

We were outside of his apartment standing on his front porch, it was a full moon, he told me he loved me and I told him back. We'd been dating about six weeks, I think.
We were dating a couple of weeks when he asked me when we were out at a bar to be his girlfriend.
The weekend of Valentine's Day, about a month and a half after we started dating. He had started telling me he "more than liked" me and every time I asked him what that meant he said he didn't know. We were sitting on his bed and he said it again, but when I asked him what it meant he finally said "It means I love you." It was stinkin' adorable.
To H, it's embarrassing. We were in bed cuddling after sex. I thought he said it and said "I love you too." That's not what he said. I don't remember what it was he actually said but it definitely wasn't that. Eh, it worked out okay in the end.
