The OB probably just wants to meet you, bring you on as a patient, and will need to write orders for the NT scan, etc. I think you can schedule that for anytime before 14 weeks. My RE released me at 7 weeks and my appointment with the OB was at 10 weeks and that felt like FOREVER haha.

My RE released me after a second good US at 7w2d. I called the OB that afternoon for an appointment and they had me come in the next week. I think when you're a little ways along in the first tri they want to get you in since they establish a relationship with non-TTTC patients somewhere around 8 weeks normally. At that appointment they went over all my medical history, did a quick office US, ordered some blood work, took a urine sample and scheduled my NT scan/genetic testing for my 11th week.
The OB most likely wants to get you in for their normal screenings, meet you, etc. Has your RE done all the normal 1st tri blood work? My OB has the first appt around 8 wks that includes an u/s and blood work (cannot remember exactly what tests were done but things like thyroid, STDs, normal blood counts, etc) and schedule your NT scan. FWIW, I was released from my RE after my appt at 6 wks and had appts with my OB at 7, 8 1/2, 10 1/2, 12 1/2, and 15 1/2 weeks.

My doc referred me to an OB after the second ultrasound (just shy of 8 weeks). I've called twice now and the office has been closed and they haven't called me back yet...so I'm starting to get annoyed!
I had my NT scan at RE and then saw my OB at 15 weeks. I had an u/s after we talked. I basically told him the treatment I did and we discussed what the plan was the rest of the pregnancy. I think nt scan can be 11-13 weeks? So doesnt have to be 12 exactly. And not every Dr does one.

That sucks! Is there another OB office they can refer you to?
I called my RE's office this morning to let them know I was having trouble getting through to the OB they referred me to. I think they may have given me a card with an old number on it. They gave me a new number and I got through this morning. She's confirming with the doctor if they want me to come in for another ultrasound, or just a regular appointment and will call me back.
My OB did an ultrasound at the first appointment. Her u/s machine was nowhere near as good as the one at the RE and she couldn't find anything. She said, with that tone in her voice, "how far along do you think you are?" I had had an u/s at the RE the day before so I wasn't worried, but I think she was. She did eventually find it.
