I've been trying for a week to make an appt with the RE but they never call me back. Finally got a person today and was able to schedule - for Monday afternoon. I'm shocked they have an opening so quickly for a new patient. Anyway, will be good to get the ball rolling on that.
Today we're having dinner at the in-laws' house. MIL is cooking moose (steak? I'm not sure how exactly) that FIL shot on a hunting trip to Canada. I hope she makes some good side dishes in case i don't like the moose LOL. I know my dog will be begging like crazy while we eat.
@moonbeam- have you ever had wild game before? If the moose is cooked when it will be fine. and I love how he came to Canada to hunt. If you don't mind where did he come in Canada to hunt? DH got a moose a few weeks ago and we are enjoying it.
HoneySpider SO excited you got in so quickly!!! Please update and let us know how it goes!
jjwritergirl Oh girl....they kill so many trees getting paperwwork done for house buying it's UNREAL. Just wait till you get to closing. You have to sign your name soooo many times on documents you'd SWEAR were identical....and some are!
My head hurts. Wah. Someone call the WAM-bulance for me....
I'm hoping to get a bunch of housework done tonight. It really stresses me being mid-reno in the dining area/kitchen area....so I want to dust EVERYTHING ELSE tonight.
Someone threw me under the bus at work. Unfortunately for them, I keep ALL things....emails, spreadsheets, etc. I was able to clear my name. This is not unusual for recruitment. Like my blood pressure didn't shoot up or anything. Just part of it
I'm crabby today thanks to the election last night. I'm really disappointed in this area
I'm glad I'm off work today.. I've been there late the last 2 nights so a day off is MUCH needed! I'll try to do something productive today, but if I don't I won't feel bad. I have an appointment today so that's the only thing I HAVE to do!
I work a quick shift this afternoon so that's kind of nice. I'm just bumming around the place until I must leave. Doing some research on budgeting and phones! Mixing in a little cleaning!
I cannot get motivated at work today. My nose was bleeding like crazy earlier, probably from all the dry air. Now, it's stopped but I've been using it as an excuse for not getting much done this morning.

Aww, one of my students wrote me an email saying how thankful she is that she had me as an instructor this term and that my feedback truly helped her improve and that she hasn't had a teacher like that in a long time (heart)
awick14 So cute!! My mom made a Mickey hat and I need to learn to do this. I've only really made blankets and scarves, haha. I really want to learn amigurumi too!
HoneySpider Yay for getting an appointment so fast and hearing such wonderful feedback!
My mom came over earlier and we packed her car and my car up and got that much more moved to the new house! Woot! Now to see if I can keep being productive this evening.
My OHSS is not improving, so my RE doesn't want me to leave the state. No Auburn trip for me. I have another appointment on Friday instead of eating at Toomer's Corner.

This maybe a stupid question but what is OHSS and how does it effect the pregnancy?

This maybe a stupid question but what is OHSS and how does it effect the pregnancy?
well, I had 15 eggs retrieved, so there were 15 empty follicles in my ovaries that are now 15 corpus luteums. they are leaky, for lack of a better word, and are leaking fluid into my abdominal cavity. I look about 5 months pregnant right now. this guy explains it better than I can: 100infertilityquestions.blogspot.com/2007/06/ohss-woes.html I'm in the moderate stage, doc is trying to keep me from moving to the severe stage. she's already mentioned possible paracentesis (poking a needle into my stomach to drain the fluid). at this point, I'd welcome it. the best part is that exposure to Hcg is what causes the symptoms/makes them worse, so pregnancy makes it worse. I'm told that it should last a few weeks.
doc did try to minimize my risk by giving me low dose of my stims and a half dose of the hcg trigger. however, I meet several of the criteria for OHSS risk: younger than 35, PCOS, small stature. other criteria is a lot of small follicles (which I had a few of those) and an estrogen level >4000 at the time of trigger (unsure of that, as I did not get my estrogen results that day).
oh and I almost forgot. all of this fluid in my abdomen and NOT in my blood vessels means I am dehydrated and thus at higher risk for blood clots. I'm already on a baby aspirin daily. doc also mentioned the possibility of lovenox shots to prevent blood clots. *cries*
HoneySpider- Glad you were able to get in to see the RE so soon! Praying your appointment goes well on Monday! And yay for great feedback from your student!
bk1- Yay for moving! Hope it continues to go smoothly and you are in your new house soon!
jjwritergirl- Yes, the amount of paperwork is ridiculous! Glad your DH is taking care of most of it!
estrellita- Hope your appointment went well today!
pooh8402- ((hugs)) Hope you feel better soon! My friend had OHSS as well (after an IUI cycle that led to pregnancy). It lasted for a few weeks but lead to a very successful pregnancy and healthy baby boy.
My week has been crazy! Went to work on Monday and found a critical bug in our software that required a fix and lots of retesting. Luckily the software engineer was able to fix (it took the rest of Monday though). On top of that, my friend (who I spend the night with when I have to be in the office) called letting me know she was sick. Since I knew I couldn't complete testing all on Tues I decided to go home Monday night and plan to spend Tues night near work (work paid for me to stay at a hotel). Worked 11 hours Monday and again on Tuesday. Went for a nice long walk last night after work and caught up with some old neighbors, which was a ton of fun!
Got to work super early again today and completed testing. Stopped by the hospital on the way home to pre-register...when I left I was happy emotional thinking that the next time I am there we will be meeting C! It's getting more and more real! I'm home now and pretty blitzed. Just checked in with work and am going to go take a nap before DH comes home.
Oh, and work surprised me with a baby shower yesterday (also why they were so insistent that I had to be there on Tues!)! We went to lunch to celebrate finishing a project and when we came back the room was filled with people, balloons, and cake! We also got a very nice card and gift cards to Target and BRU! Love my co-workers, especially my boss...he truly is amazing and has been so wonderfully supportive throughout this whole journey!
Blech. Apparently it's snowing. It's been raining all day. It was kinda cold and getting close to snow temps, but I was hoping it would stop. It's hard to tell looking out the window at the lights in the parking lot if it's just rain or if it did really switch, but H is out and said it's snowing. At least I'm home now!
