She's talked about it before (not sure if it was here) and said it was all pretty set up/pre-determined.

That would have been me.  And we had already bought the place though we hadn't moved in by then.  The one flat we "looked" at wasn't even for sale - it belonged to a mate of the real estate agent so was off-shore.  They contacted us before we had bought the flat and kept in touch through the buying-process so we filmed relatively quickly after we had bought.  They paid for our plane tickets back to the states that summer (I think it worked out to be about $1500 as the others mentioned).  The film days were long (10-12 hours for three solid days in Norway, and 1 day in the states) as they had to film the same stuff over and over again to make it look like they were using multiple cameras.  We had an awesome film crew though and would totally do it again if we could have them back (the sound guy had worked on numerous BBC productions and had fantastic stories).

I just want to commend your acting skills! You guys looked crazy nervous during the phone bidding scene! It brought back the memories of all the times I've been through it! (Lost a lot of bidding rounds over the years!)
