It's a bit of a haul, but I'm at the point now where I can get on the bus and the subway and it's only for 20 hours/week. Also apparently I can do some (or a lot) of it from home.
There was all you can eat free ice cream in the break room at the radio station I interned at in college (courtesy of an advertising client). I didn't realize how good I had it back then.
Oh man, there was all-you-can-eat pudding at one of my college jobs. Like, so much pudding. It was pretty amazing.
Answer me this - what doe gal friday mean? someone IRL said it to me yesterday and I had no clue what she was talking about
I think it's originally from Robinson Crusoe, from the character Man Friday. It describes an assistant or personal assistant who basically handles everything, is multi-skilled in many different areas, who swoops in and saves the day.
Then there was the Cary Grant movie called His Gal Friday.
I'm not thrilled about taking an "assistant" position, and I hope it doesn't kill me as a step backwards.
Even if it is an assistant position, it is not a step backwards. You are changing fields and with that comes adjustment, and sometimes a lower pay grade or lower title than what you previously held. (I have practiced this line for myself a bit if you can't tell)
