I just made a drink, packed a bowl and am going to continue decorating my apartment. My tree has been up since last weekend, but I had to order 3M hooks for my old plaster walls (for lights), and they just came yesterday, so now it's ON.
I'm on the 3rd Harry Potter book because of you people, and I kinda like it. I'll admit I've thought of just watching all the movies (I've seen one, I think the second to last) instead though. lol
I'm going to ask to "work from home" Wed even though we're closed Friday and I'm taking the entire next week off. I do so much cooking for my family's Thanksgiving, Wed will make a huge difference. Especially since I'm taking the train this year instead of driving like I usually do - I can't do a lot of prep ahead.
seabitch I like the term sit a minute. I do it too, just not quite as often anymore because, children and responsibilities
It all changes, but gets better in a way, enjoy every minute of your children and responsibilities, because in the blink of an eye, when you are certainly not ready, it changes, and BAM, they are grown, and you are back out on your own, figuring it out all over again!

I am! I love my munchie! She's my best friend and I've been having so much fun hanging out with her since I lost my job. I wish I could stay home with her all the time.
liubot, you are doing it right. Mine are 23 and 22 and although grown, we are very close. We enjoy nothing more than hanging out together, watching HGTV and playing games, and giggling till our bellies and cheeks hurt. I recently sold the house they grew up in. Tough, but proof positive, it is the personal connection not the physical location that binds. Looking so forward to spending 5 days at Thanksgiving with my kiddos!

I thought I was the last holdout on the Harry Potter books and movies! DD was into the books/movies, so when the second-to-last movie came out, I took her to see it, but of course I didn't have any idea what was going on. I've since re-read the books twice and watched the whole series 3-4 times. As you read the books, then see the movies, you pick more and more stuff out. Then, once you realize you are a complete HP nerd, you'll watch the movies with the Harry Potter Wiki page open.
I have so much TV to catch up on. The World Series was awesome, but it took so much TV time. I'm behind in Dr. Who, American Horror Story, Walking Dead, The Voice....it goes on and on. We don't have Direct TV any more, so I'm having to rely on Hulu, Netflix, and Amazon for some of these shows, but not all of them are available there, so I've been using online streaming that may or may not be considered pirating. I'd be willing to pay to watch these shows online, but that's not an option, so I do it this way, and feel a little guilty, but not guilty enough to not do it.

jigsy where did you live in UT?? I lived there for a couple years, and it was definitely different than any other place I've lived. What was your favorite and least favorite thing about it?
Confession: I've never seen Harry Potter films. When I was 14, I tried to read the first book but I got bored and quit.
You are my people!!
I've seen all of the films because I have friends who were huge fans and dragged me along. I tried to read the first book though and both times I was bored as shit and gave it up.

I grew up up in a suburb of salt lake (west valley) Favorite-it's clean and friendly Least favorite- it's fake. I live in LA but still think SLC is more fake...everyone is not fucking happy all the time.
You guise are making me legit sad. Harry Potter is the best. Seriously. The only reason I haven't gotten my Harry Potter tattoo is because I haven't decided which one I want.

BF was horrified when I told him I hadn't read or seen any of the movies. I've now seen most of the movies.

Ah, yes, my old company had a West Valley pit, but I worked up in Ogden, and spent some time in Logan as well.
It definitely does have the Stepford feeling about it. Everything is happy and perfect and life is just GRAND! So I agree with the fake thing.

I went to USU for a year...it was not a successful year because I'd just not go to class if it was too cold...it was too cold a lot.

I've seriously thought about getting HP tattoo! I love this one, but I want to try to make it a little more my own creation:
I saw all the movies when they came out, but I'm now reading the Harry Potter books for the first time! I'm about 3/4 done with book 5. I would like to finish the series before the new year; we'll see how that goes.
