Huh, I guess it's somewhat normal to comment on whether someone looks Jewish or not then? I wouldn't have thought so, but my DH is Jewish and I am not and people regularly give me a critical eye and then follow it up with "you're not Jewish, are you?" It's always from Jewish women too.
cosmos - I wouldn't feel like a failure. I think it's a credit to you that you were able to interview for the position after just a year and change with the company. Fingers crossed for you though!
les and cosmos ... uhh, what is Jewish supposed to look like?
Based on others' comments, they expect us to have dark features, big noses, and frizzy, curly hair. I have blue eyes, a smaller nose, and I straighten my hair, so I guess I don't fit that ridiculous stereotype.
I interviewed for an Associate director with my company on Monday.
No word yet. They are still interviewing through the end of the week. I'm trying not to think about it and I know if I get passed over, I have other opportunities. I will feel like I failed so much if I don't get an offer, though.
Dude, no. You just started this new kick-ass job, what, a year ago? Has it even been that long? You clearly rock and you'll have more opportunities.
Thanks I know I do have more opportunities. But I'm really well qualified for this job and I don't even know who internally is a better candidate. And they told me they prefer internal. So I'd feel like something was wrong with me... Silly I know.
