Spoilers for the Episode that aired on December 10th!!!
Oh my gosh, you guys! SO HAPPY Rayna didn't marry Luke! I kind of knew it had to happen since we definitely weren't supposed to like Luke, but still -- so happy! When he talked to the girls about boarding school, I figured she had to give him the boot. They just didn't seem like a good match at all -- and she never seemed to love him.
I'm also really excited for Avery and Juliet. As much as I hated both of those characters in season 1, I love them together. When I saw the look on his face when his mom told him he didn't have to even be friends with Juliet, I just knew he was going to ask her to be in a relationship again. I didn't expect a proposal though!
SO happy Deacon wasn't drinking again. I'm not too worried about them killing off Rayna's main love interest, so I'm fairly certain he'll ignore the cancer diagnosis until Scarlett tells Rayna, who will then come and convince Deacon to see a doctor. After a battle with cancer with Rayna by his side, they'll realize they're meant to be together. :-) I just hope that doesn't take a season and a half.
Oh, and I really hope the prostitute thing blows up in Teddy's face. I don't hate him anymore, but I just think he's an idiot for seeing her when he's mayor.
Also, poor Layla. Who thinks she'll be miraculously saved? I'm kind of leaning towards her actually having died because of the implications for Will and Jeff, but I was starting to like her character, so I'll be sad if that's how she's written off.
And finally -- this has turned into the absolute stereotypical soap opera. And I love it!

Loved this episode! I was so excited that she decided not to marry Luke. There was always something off about him.
I thought it was so sweet when Juliet looked panicked when Avery came over and then he proposed! I thought the cancer diagnosis was odd and I wonder where they will take that story line.
I do wonder if they will save Layla or not. I think it would be better if they did kill her off. Did you see Jeff call Teddy and say he needed a favor or something along that line? I wonder where they are going with that. I really hope Will is outed in the next season so I can see how the show deals with it.
Can't believe we have to wait until February to see what happens!
I'm so glad that Rayna decided against marrying Luke. There's always been something off about him and their relationship. And I loved that she was being true to herself when she made the decision.
I LOVED the Juliet and Avery storyline; it made me so happy. Am hoping that whatever happens with Deacon isn't awful. I really like his character.
As for Layla, I'm unsure what I want to happen. Part of me really wants Will to come out and I'm still not a fan of Jeff. I didn't see the paternity twist with Gunnar coming, as I wasn't really thinking of his brother. Will be interesting to see how that plays out.

Love that Avery & Juliette got married. And happy the Rayna broke it off with Luke, they never really seemed like they were in love to me. I feel bad for Gunnar, he idolized his brother.
When Gunnar's exGF told him the boy was his son, I turned to my DH and said bullshit, it's his brother's kid. Sort of freaked him out I was right, lol.
I thought Teddy would be blackmailed by Jeff into signing his daughters to a recording contract. Now, he must need a favor if Layla is dead and he gave her his pills. Layla is supposed to be filming the Gem movie, maybe she needed the time off. Her character was just getting to be not annoying.
As much as I did not want Rayna to marry Luke, I hated how she dumped him. Why is Scarlett looking so drawn and tired?

Yes! I think that was a great bit of acting by Luke because the pain in his face. damn.
I loved that we still got a wedding, and that Juliet is so different from the pop tart she was first presented as.
Layla was annoying as all hell, but she finally started to be fleshed out and made her more interesting, so it's too bad she died. I think she did die because I think the commercials said something like "And don't miss the show because SOMEONE DIES" DUN DUN DUN.
Nashville is such a good show. The music is great, the story lines, while soap-opera-y, are interesting to me, so I love it. I too was SO GLAD Rayna did not marry Luke.
I'm SO BUMMED we have to wait until February for new episodes.
