I've been meaning to ask - what happened with your outside ferral kitty?
I've only seen it a couple of times recently. After the new year, I'll make a concerted effort to lure it with food so we can trap it to get fixed. We have a container we'll turn into a shelter for it at that point and put the shelter in the backyard.
You can spray him with a super soaker. I'll give you two guesses as to which list it will get you on, though.
I TOTALLY spray my dogs with the hose when they're being assholes outside. Barking or fence fighting = getting sprayed. I want to get one of those super soakers with a tank that you can wear on your back because it's a PITA to have to go get the hose and drag it over to spray them.
I'm on Team Spray the Cat.
I've been considering the same thing. Eddie tries to fence fight with the neighbor's dog (meaning Max barks because he's excited to see Georgie, but Eddie has to be all LOOK AT ME I'M A BIG BRAVE PIT BULL MIX BARK BARK BARK SNARL BARK BARK...even though Max is also a pit mix, and looks like a 75 lb version of my wee Eddie) and a super soaker with a tank would make correcting him so much easier. Making my way out to the backyard with a spray bottle or getting out the hose just isn't worth it. A super soaker I could keep on the deck though? Totally worth it.
tacosforlife, what about a small handheld squirt gun (since at 4am it's less water to potentially get everywhere in case your aim is off. 4am and all.)? We kept one in the kitchen for a while when Eddie had his 7am demand barking issue after we adopted him, and it curbed that little behavior nicely within a week. Now if only it would curb his other asshole behaviors as nicely (see above fence fighting attempts with neighbor's big smooshy dogs)...
