I'm having a rough day today. It would have been my mom's 66th birthday today. I can't stop thinking about her and how much I miss her. I'm glad I'm working from home today because I'm a mess
I'm so sorry for your loss. Birthdays are hard, especially this time of year.

First... I'm such a baby about pain, that the uterus pushing talk has me freaking out a little. Everyone who said their HSG was slightly uncomfortable or like a period cramp, I wanted to hunt down and punch. My HSG was painful; I told H in the car on the way home, that we could go ahead and schedule the epi that day!!
Also...why do I blush uncontrollably when people talk to me about my pregnancy? Like today, a couple of the cafeteria/lunch ladies whom I'm friendly with, stopped me and said they'd heard my news and wanted to say congratulations! Cue me turning 1000 shades of red and pink. I can't control it, but I wish it didn't happen. I *think* it might be that I'm just not used to talking about myself, but I wish it would stop.
Just figured I would drop this wisdom and doom here for y'all.... After you have a baby, regardless of vag or c section delivery, they will do routine pushing on your stomach to help the uterus contract for the first 24 hrs or so. It hurts like a fucking bitch. Omg it was the least favorite part of yesterday morning (since I delivered near midnight).
I totally don't remember this. I do remember them telling me to make sure the baby was stomach to stomach when breastfeeding because its kicking while eating helped with uterus contractions?

The feeding itself actually releases oxytocin, which helps your uterus clamp down.
I read this before.. is it less painful if you still have the epidural in/or on pain meds? lol
My epi was still in on the table obviously for the first few gigantic pushes. Then back in my room (at my hospital you recover from c-sections in your own room right away) it was out but the pain meds were still wearing off. It hurts regardless. Like a lot. Sorry!

Does it feel like really painful cramps?
from the breastfeeding yes. From the pushing, no. It is them literally pressing down on your stomach to feel where the uterus is to make sure it's going back into place. And hurt me more than contractions in my 20 hours of labor before my section lol.
@sessalee your posts are making me laugh today, because I get you. The other day I was putting last minute stuff on the registry so we could finish it up and use the completion discount. I put things on there like nipple butter, gel soothers, etc and H was like do you really need all this stuff? I thought we were trying to be minimal. Um yes, yes we do. You want to deal with cracked nipples with nothing? Grrrrrrrr.........
rachelgreen that is really good to know. I didn't realize they did that ... not fun after surgery.
