2015 BAH rates are out.

Down $40 for DH's rank... I find the equation odd because we went down $40 but the rank above him went up $12 and the rank below him went down $100. Two ranks below him went up. LOL

We are thankful for grandfathering.

H's went up by $15. But the rate with no dependents went down $56. Woah. That's a huge difference.

Are you guys in a small area? I can see that happening since the calculations are based on a certain type and size of housing in each bracket. Maybe the type of housing used for the calculations of one bracket went up in value or was more difficult to come by while another type used for another bracket became more available and thus went down in price. What I mean is if one is based on a 3 bedroom single family home and another is based on a 2 bedroom apartment then I can see how those values might, in a particular region, fluctuate independently.

Ours went down. We are on post this time, so it doesn't matter for us.

When we lived in VA, and owned a house, it was a stressful time. LOL! Houses there were expensive, so we really priced ourselves out of our BAH. Every year I would be anxious until it came out. We only have 3 years left until retirement, so no more buying a house until he is done, and we are sure of where we want to be.

Somewhat small. Point Mugu Naval Air Station (north of Los Angeles). For transparency sake, DH is an O-4. The neighborhood we live in is mostly O-4 and O-5 so it has been a running joke that my girlfriends whose husbands are CDRs got "an extra bottle of Kendall Jackson" and I lost my monthly pedicure . But in seriousness, after the talk of a 5% drop we are all feeling pretty fortunate.

Who knows. That actually ended up getting resolved. They said E took less classes than he actually took. But then the school corrected the paperwork. Thank God. Considering my husband currently has no job we need those benefits.
