Maybe I come from the land of giants, but women who are 6'+ don't give me pause. I see them regularly and am friends with quite a few. Either you amazons are overly sensitive or making shit up.
She is 33 and in any given social setting still gets shit about her height from strangers, on a regular basis, yes.
Look, I am not all butt-hurt or anything but I hate when people think that just because it isn't numbers on a scale it's ok to make comments like this.
I understand you're sensitive to this subject, but I think you're reading too much into this. Using the word giant in front of adjectives like bitch, asshole, dick, douche, etc. doesn't necessarily have any bearing on the person's physical appearance. I did not take it like that from the get go, and Smace herself confirmed that was not her original intention.
The story you told sucks for sure, but we all have a story like that - if it's not about height it's about something else. Kids can be cruel, but you can't project those feelings onto people a couple decades later!
Even worse, then, to refer to 6' as "giant" then. What does that make my 6'3" BFF (who routinely is told to "keep it in the circus")?
Everyone has something they were picked on for while growing up. I got teased mercilessly for having super curly hair and for being foreign.
But jumping straight to " WTF do you do that you can spend two hours on a damn msg board? You sound like a winner"Â doesn't really do much for the argument of not picking on people LOL
And it certainly doesn't elicit sympathy for someone claiming to be so picked on that they turn around and make shitty comments like that to someone who wasn't even addressing them.

This is very true. Although I would also surmise that adults can be as cruel as children sometimes, even if they don't intend to be.
Yes. In my generation ages 25-40 it is unusual. My 13 year old niece is 5'11- she is gorgeous, smart, and incredible. ( dear God I sound like a line from The Help). But, seriously a lot of people look at height as an attribute but many also make fun of it because it's different. Especially in a female. Especially in a female that is shy, wants to desperately blend in and is bad at sports ( I was told I was a waste by more then a few junior high and high school coaches). My niece plays the sax like a boss and I would do anything to spare her the pain I went through.
Huh?
This makes no sense, there are a lot of woman in that age range that are 5'10" and taller.
And most of the women here are 25-40. Believe me when I say it isn't unusual for women in that age range to be over 6 feet tall.

Yes!! Women our height are routinely accosted by things like this!!! I love my coworkers but after years of lunches out together the routine joke is "what will she get today!!? They don't mean anything malicious, nor do most of the people that make the comments (probably like SMACE). But to us "Giants" it gets really fucking old.
Poor tall people, always being models and athletes and shit. And I bet when you get a big meal, short women giggle about "that tall girl eating gross food. No wonder she's so tall! Gross,"
The struggle is real.
While I don't take offense to smace's post in the least, this is dumb. As a woman, it would feel awesome to be labeled as small, petite or little. It is associated a lot with being cute. Being tall feels like big, giant, and huge. I get that can be my perception, but I think other tall girls share it. I would love to feel cute and petite. We all have our hang ups Anyway, this is neither here nor there, as I don't think OP was offensive.

This is starting to feel like the AE Husband Drama threads where it starts of with one story, and then the progressive posts get OMGSOMUCHMOREDRAMATICTHANYOUCOULDHAVEPOSSIBLYIMANAGINED
Well, if it matters, I was more offended by the fact OP worked out for two hours and wanted the giant bitch to wait that long.

It really isn't.

LOL
Good for you for anthromajor#studiedthis#for the win. How tall are you? Have you ever experienced this personally? How about walk in someone else 's big shoes "for the win"! (Or shut the fuck up if you don't know what your talking about).

Nope. You're the only person who has ever experienced something negative related to their looks. Just you.

No one said "equal" but you seem to think tall people should brush that shit off just because it is seen as a "desirable trait." I
Bluesbaby pretty much did with her whole "if she called a 300 lb woman huge everyone would have flipped!" And that is pure fucking insanity. Even if they're teased or whatever, no one blames an unusually tall person for being tall. No one says, "Well, if only you TRIED harder you would be shorter!"
Again, so being teased for something you have zero control over in any way, is bad, right? Just checking.

How long until one of those undercover shows does an expose on how tough it is for tall people? You know how they did with black people at some point? Maybe put the reporter on stilts? LIke when Tyra got into a fat suit?
It's bullshit to say that tall women face equal discrimination and harassment to overweight women. Complete bullshit.
Bqq- I'm short and I've never been called cute or petite.
Nope! Got to respectfully disagree. When I was a teen I used to pray that I could be heavy instead of tall so people wouldn't call me out every fucking day. Maybe it was different in larger cities but in my hometown it was hell every fucking day. I call bullshit to anyone that has never lived it calling bullshit and again- if you haven't lived it then you don't know what you're taking about on this particular subject so kindly SHUT THE FUCK UP.
