I'm just at the end of my first trimester now, but I have only gained about 1 lb at this point despite feeling like I have been eating a ton for the past few weeks. I think everyone tends to gain weight at different times in their pregnancy, so I wouldn't worry as long as your OB/midwife isn't concerned.
I gained 10 pounds total by my 12 week appointment (some was leftover bloat from OHSS, so I was up 7 pounds since my BFP). my OB didn't mention anything.
like PP said, people gain weight differently. my mom told me she gained in the beginning for all 3 of her pregnancies, and didn't gain another pound past 32 weeks. my sister didn't look pregnant at all until like 14 weeks, and didn't "pop" until 18 weeks or so. she gained most of her weight in the second half of her pregnancies.
I haven't actually gained weight thus far. I'm actually down about 12-13 lbs since my first prenatal appointment at 5 weeks, 6 days. I have been eating normally, albeit slightly more than pre-pregnancy. While I do make sure to eat a balanced diet, if there's something I want (i.e. ice cream) I eat it.
I am overweight though and my doctor said that it's not uncommon for heavy women to lose weight especially in the first and second trimester. The baby is growing right on schedule so she is not concerned about it. I see the midwife for the first time next week so we'll she has to say about it.
Bottom line - as long as your OB/midwife isn't concerned I wouldn't worry too much.

Around 8 in first tri. It's so hard but try to just be as active and healthy as you can and trust your body to do what it needs to. Seeing those numbers creep up can be disheartening I totally get it. But it's all for a good reason

I gained 5lbs in the first 20 weeks with my last pregnancy. I think I'd gained about 10lbs up to that point with my first.
At 8w5d, I'm already up 5lbs this time. However, I started 10lbs lighter that my second BFP, and 15lbs lighter than my first BFP. I'm guessing my body is trying to play catch-up.
1.5lbs so far. I've read that anywhere between 1 and 5 is normal. You'll probably even out later on -- I don't think it's anything to really worry about.

Hmm I didn't think about that i am 20lbs lighter then when I got pregnant with my son and back to my wedding weight so that may have contributed to the faster weight gain.

Prob close to 15lbs (I don't know what my weight was pp).
I wasn't really sick and instead ate ... a lot. But thankfully has since trailed off as my appetite is more normal now (and I am eating more than just carbs and cheese).

First kid I 2lbs during the first trimester, this time I gained 3lbs.
But like everyone else said, each pregnancy is different. I started this pregnancy 10lbs lighter, and I'm already 8lbs up from when I was last time around.
People gain weight differently, especially in the first trimester. Some women are too sick to even gain and lose weight. I don't think I gained any weight in the first trimester. I had gained about 5lbs by 18 weeks.
I gained 3 pounds first trimester but I was overweight to start. I've gained a total of 14 so far at 37.5 weeks. I think your body just does what it needs to do and as long as your doctor isn't concerned, no need for you to be either. =)
I'm up maybe a pound, but I've been really sick and my appetite was decreased a lot at the beginning. I wasn't able to eat properly until about 10 weeks.
I'm not really sure. I think like 12 lbs. which is more than I'd like. I'll be 14 weeks tomorrow. I'm carrying twins though. I'm eating relatively healthy just more carbs than I normally do and eating more often. I put on weight super easy if I'm not intensely working out. I really just want to roll with it this pregnancy. I do not want to stress about the weight gain at all. As long my doctor says all is good than I'm going to do my best not to stress out.
I think I gained about 8 lbs in the first trimester. My weight gain has come in spurts - I had a bigger jump in second trimester, but now for the last few weeks have been steady.

Yep, I figure our bodies know what they like, and are going to do what they want during pregnancy.

I've gained about 15 pounds so far and I'm 21 weeks. I agree with others that your body is going to do what it needs and as long as your doctor isn't concerned, you shouldn't be either.
Everybody is different. As long as you're healthy and your doctor doesn't mind you're fine
I'm up 5 lb already. I used to follow a very healthy diet before my BFP (lots of veggies, almost no carbs) but I've been having terrible food aversions and morning sickness and all I can eat now are potatoes and bread... I hope I can get back to my regular diet soon.
Just remember this weight increase is for a good reason! And you'll get back to your normal weight after the baby is born.
I think I gained around 12lbs? I started out borderline underweight and have gained approx 1 million pounds since then. (I'm 35 weeks and have gained 50lbs I am swollen but still). I keep telling myself that ever body/pregnancy is different but it's still hard when you read in a the books you should be gaining x amount a weight per week and it doesn't match up to what is happening to you. As pp said if you doctor isn't worried then you shouldn't worry. I eat pretty darn healthy and workout and evidently this is just what my body does during pregnancy.

There is no "right" amount to gain in 1st tri. I actually lost about 13 pounds but that's because I had gallstones and pancreatits. And that weight that I "lost?" Oh yeah I found it. I'm up about 30. It balances out.
I actually lost about 6 lbs in my first trimester, but I also had really bad "morning" sickness. I put that in quotes because I was sick all the time. I actually felt like I was eating a ton since I had to eat every hour to keep from getting sick. I was surprised I was losing weight. I guess they days I couldn't keep anything down offset it. My doctor wasn't concerned, she knew i was sick and said they don't worry unless you lose more than 10% of your bodyweight.
I'm almost to the end of my second trimester and I think I'm up about 5 lbs now from my prepregnant weight.. She said I'm on track and should be gaining about a pound a week now. I'm not tracking my weight, I don't want to get anxious about it. But I've heard different people gain/lose at different times in the pg. Just check with your doctor to make sure you are staying healthy and try not to worry about it too much.
I have lost weight both pregnancies in the 1st tri, but don't worry I make up for it later! Everyone gains differently and that's ok as long as your OB/midwife isn't concerned.

Everyone is so different in how their bodies work with pregnancy. If it bothers you even a little, ask to be weighed backwards and ask that the doctor not discuss your weight unless he/she is concerned.
I did this based on a friend's advice and it's been great. I've worried over my weight for years and knew watching the scale climb would upset me, even though it's for a great reason. I weighed myself the day of my bfp and told DH I'll weigh myself again 3 months after he's born then go from there
Not for everyone, but if you think it might help, try it. Good luck!

I'm down a few pounds from my ppg weight but I was 10 lbs above where I should have been at Thanksgiving and I think cutting out alcohol (cider specifically) has really had an effect. I haven't been sick but I'm eating like normal and just chugging water all day long, which is very abnormal for me.
If your body craves carbs or what have you give it what it wants. I'm sure I will catch up with a quickness soon enough!
