not the best quality since it's just recorded from someone's phone. I'm hoping they'll put it online this weekend after the IMAX sneak peek event is over.

I just spent like five minutes going through and start-stopping to try and figure out what scenes
I think the Sand Snakes are in there plenty. They show a girl using a whip at a tent scene in the desert where a man is buried up to his neck in sand. I *think* they show a fraction of a second of one of them kissing a man (presumably Ser whoever who conspires re: Marcella), another standing in a hallway and has short, dark hair. Cersei opens a package that has some kind of statue of a viper in it. I assume another one is the veiled rider on the horse who gets thrown, and one is the scantily clad girl with long braids who looks like she's wearing a very skimpy vest.
I *think* they also show Arya going to the temple, waking up, and retrieving her sword, too. Eeeeeeee!

As a book reader, these are the first things that jumped out at me. (No spoilers.)
Removed: - Lack of Iron Islander characters. - Lack of Griff & Co. In continuation, V&I appear to be supporting a female rather than a male. - Arianne and Quentyn appear to be cut. - No evidence of the ship heading to Oldtown. - Stoneheart is seeming less likely.
Changes/Additions: - Sansa is past the part where she is in the book. - Jaime is in Dorne, not the Riverlands. - Young Cersei! - Jon appears to be going to Hardhome.

My understanding is that they haven't cast Arianne. I don't know if they will, because I think that was unclear when I read about that awhile ago. But they haven't cast her for this season.

No Arianne leads me to believe that the Griff story line has been cut completely, because the sample chapters of TWOW seem to tie her to him. I guess they need to cut SOMETHING to save time, because last I heard they only have a guarantee for 3 more seasons and they have almost 4 entire books to get through!

Yeah, that's true. I forget - in the show, is Myrcella in Dorne? Because Arianne plays a role in her story line or she plays a role in Arianne's, I guess.
My understanding is they want to keep the show to 7 seasons, because that's the length of the contracts for the actors. If they do an 8th season, they will have to renegotiate and pay a buttload more, most likely. I'm sure they have other reasons for that, but that's a big one (cost).
I guess some twists and turns are going to have to be cut; I think
Young Griff/Aegon is a Blackfyre as are V and I's wife, which hasn't been confirmed, but maybe it's easy enough to cut that part out of the overall story? IDK, I feel like whatever is going on in the south is going to eventually be moot anyway with what is happening at the wall with the Others. Like in the books, I can see Young Griff being an issue - or an ally - for Dany, and fighting against the Lannisters, I guess, but I think a lot of the story lines with who is the heir to the iron throne and fighting over the iron throne are distractions from the bigger Others annihilation that is on the horizon.

I suspect something similar. Apparently there as supposed to be a second Dance with Dragons in the 5th book, so I am guessing that's what his role is in the next book.
I guess, if he is a Blackfyre getting into that without the novella background would be too much of a pain. Also, they haven't really mentioned the events of Robert's Rebellion. As it is, I think they will have difficulty pulling in Jon's true parentage so it makes sense for show-watchers only.

One thing that I forgot is that in the books - Varys saying the stuff about Dany and I being involved happens first before we find out about YG. So we may still get Young Griff. I had totally forgotten that.
Okay, 2 things. I read the books but I have no idea who this Young Griff fella is. If its important to the story, I must have found that bit so boring I forgot about it. Will go see if I can find out what it is you are all talking about.
Also, so happy there is no Bran in this season. i thought I was the only one who finds every scene with him utterly dull. The highlight of any Bran section is always Hodor lol. And its weird, because it should be interesting, but its just...not. Maybe its because for all the books he is going north while nothing happens lol.

I was just able to watch it again and pay closer attention.
So since Jamie goes to Dorne, I think it looks like they are cutting out the Riverlands/Lady Stoneheart/Brotherhood Without Banners? Or at least limiting it significantly and I'm pretty sure no Lady Stoneheart.

Does that mean Gendry is still rowing lol?
Probably lol. If not, he has had enough time to turn up just about anywhere and is hopelessly lost.
On a more serious note, I think he will show up to take Edric Storm's place, if Edric has something important in later books. If not, there's always Arya/Gendry shippers' hopes that he and Arya will get together down the line. Presuming he got out of that sailboat alive, of course.
in Daznak's Pit right near Dany that leaked a while ago. I'm assuming that the slavery thing is getting at the very least streamlined, so it looks like Penny is gone.
At the end of last season, I was so disappointed at no Lady Stoneheart. But now I'm kind of meh on it. I just want to find out what happens to the characterS I care about and I don't want to meet 2,000 new characters I don't give a crap about.

I was so upset because I thought it would be an amazing moment esp at the end of a season but after watching a half season of TWD trying to make me care about characters pulled directly from the comic books, I concede that they were probably right to not include her. For one, I think it would be difficult (and expensive) to properly convey that character to the screen. She's basically supposed to be a walking corpse who has a gaping throat wound, but she also converses to some degree with other characters.
I've basically decided to see the show and books as different entities. The show has to cut out tons of stuff and change things for TV. It just has to. The story is not served by trying to make it just like the source material, and since I regularly complain about TWD fanboys crying about source material and regularly rant that they will have to deviate from the source material to keep people watching, I'm going to try and stop being a hypocrite. Lol.

I actually think the show is 100x better than the books. I loved the first one and by the fourth, I had given up and literally threw the book across the room less than halfway through.

I think they both have their strengths. Like there are things I like better in the books, and things I like better in the show.
I mean, the books were supposed to be a trilogy initially, right? So I'm sure there is some fat to trim, lol.
