Only a week till holidays in Florida. We just got back from Mexico 3 weeks ago and in that 3 weeks DH has had the flu, pneumonia, both kids had the flu, DH got a vasectomy and we had issues at our rental property.
Your H got a new job? Or his boss got fired? I missed whatever happened, but yay!!
LOL. His boss owns the company. H got laid off. One month severance. He's already been getting interviews.
Between his severance, my ability to earn OT, and the prospect of unemployment benefits if he doesn't find something in the next month, and I'm feeling pretty serene about the whole thing actually.

I am so tired. I'm ready for the holiday.
Wow, that's a lot. Hope the week goes by quickly for you.

Thanks. Everyone is just on the mend now and I have a sore throat. Lol. I think it's just from pure exhaustion.
I did get a massage two days ago and it was the best hour of my entire life. I'm so over winter.
When we get to Florida we are staying with my in-laws (we rent out our properties there) and i know a lot of people may think that's awful, but I can't wait because they will wait on the kids (and me!) the entire time. And we will go out for dinner a lot and I will barely have to cook or clean. I can lounge at the pool and read a book while someone else watches the kids. It's going to be fucking glorious.

I took a variety of tests last week at the ob's office and I missed when called on Thursday night with the results, we played phone tag Friday and I still don't have the results. UGH! This is killing me. I feel like if there were issues he would have had a less upbeat message but I could be way off base. Monday seems so far away!!!
Unpacking a house is very trying on a marriage. I think I'll need local folks on speed dial for either emergency wine delivery or a bail fund.
H has never really had to do the unpacking before (because I've always been unemployed upon arrival), and he's trying to order me on how to do it. He has no concept how much work it takes nor how much thought has to go into that work.

My baby cat thinks I make a great climbing tree when she sees an opportunity to get up high somewhere. This morning I was standing near my armoire and she leapt onto my body and scrambled up. Unfortunately I didn't have pants on yet. Two huge scratches on the back of my leg now.
I'm exhausted because I was wide awake at 3 am and ended up watching a lifetime movie that was a horrible ripoff of Father of the Bride. I got to almost the end and realized it was stupid and what was I doing watching when I should be sleeping.

H and I are going through this right now. We have very different approaches (obviously mine is the right one) and we are at each other's throats.

I just finished "Q Squared." 2curlydogs thank you SO MUCH for the recommendation. I loved it. I'm almost done with "I, Q" now. It had a rather hilarious nod to The Princess Bride.

Send them out for something and just put shit wherever you want while they're gone. My DH thought he had opinions on where stuff should go. I just smiled and said "huh! That's an idea!" And then did what I wanted when he was at work. He hasn't rearranged anything yet.

I'm on a train layover in LA. A couple weeks ago, I discovered that LA Starbucks have coconut milk, and have now spent way too much money at LA Starbucks in my subsequent trips here.
Instead of doing resolutions, I set monthly goals this year. Which means I will spend today deep cleaning all 3 bathrooms, clean out my closet, and hope to lose 1.1 more pounds in the process so I can meet all my monthly goals.
Perhaps I should add "don't procrastinate" to February's goals.
I feel the unpacking wouldn't be as bad if we had a garage or spare room to have as a staging area. But we have a small apt stuffed to the gills. There's no room to even begin.

I bought some fabric to attempt this make your own blanket scarf thing. It should be uber simple. I am not completely incompetent. However, I can't cut a straight line...
I just got back from getting a MMR booster. There's like a 1 in 6 chance that I could get a fever as a side effect, amongst other things. I hope not. I think I'll spend the rest of the weekend in bed just in case.
