Books for preschool or younger that feature **ASIAN** protagonists!
Bonus points if they come in board-book format.
Already on the list are the classics: Ping the Duck, Tikki Tikki Tembo, and The Funny Little Woman. I actually have my copies of these from when I was little, but they're aimed at slightly older kids than Lizard. Everything else I have is from when I was in Japan, so it's for 9-15 year olds and/or about stuff like Hiroshima getting bombed.
I'm looking for more like "LOOK! Eun-Seo has ONE bowl of kim-chi! Eun-Seo has TWO chopsticks! Eun-Seo has THREE mandu!" etc etc. (That doesn't exist; it's just an example.)
spunbutterfly Do you have any of those? I know she's particularly concerned about how racist so many Asian themed books are. She's just trying to build a multi-cultural library for her little and realized she doesn't have enough in this category.
This site had a bunch. I remember when I was little my mom had different Korean and English easy reader books... I wish I remembered their names one was about cakes.
The guy wants a special cake and can't remember the name. His wife then makes fun of him so he hits her in the head to show her what the shape is. So she makes them. (Seems kind of effed up when you think about it nowadays)
