I know this thread is kind of done, but I also have to add that if the kid was having an allergic reaction, he would have been shuttled straight back into triage. The last time I was at the ER for a reaction, I did go via cab (maybe not the best choice, in hindsight) with my boss and as soon as we walked in and said it was an allergic reaction to peanuts, they were getting IV drips and such ready for me immediately. There's no waiting room for people on the verge of anaphylaxis.
This doesn't matter, but I'm curious what the dessert was?
i actually don't know.
we spoke again briefly earlier. i asked some questions and turns out they went to ER but left because the wait was too long and he was fine. no epipen or benadryl was used nor did she have any of that on her (wtf? i don't have allergies nor does my kid but isn't that common fucking sense???)
she is so stupid. they apparently have found a lawyer that will take their case. i asked if it was contingency or hourly. she said hourly for $200/hour.
i'm done with her.
Oooookaay... This changes my " I would sue" statement. I would sue ( more like look into suing) IF my kid was made ill AFTER I did what is stated on the menu ( "please inform server prior to ordering of any food allergies"). I would not sue if NOTHING happened to my kid. I also always have benedryl and 2 epipens on me at all times.
