I don't work on Fridays and I accidentally signed the kids up for Kids Club next Friday (it's their spring break). I'm debating whether I should call and see if I can cancel their reservation or if I should keep it as a vacation day for me, lol. H is traveling Mon-Fri next week, so I might be ready for a break by then!
Obviously the answer here is to take it as a vacation day for you.
I'm at a loss with DS. I thought we had things figured out but last night melt downs all through dinner. Plus DH is home and we are both trying to parent and not agreeing and it was a clusterfuck.
At one point DS got upset, clutched his sippy and said "MY milk!" For some reason this pissed DH off because of his "tone" and "he was punking me". WTAF?
Later I talked to him about it thinking that he just got too in the moment but he was still upset about DS being disrespectful. I was almost looking around for hidden cameras. You mean after 10 years of SD treating me like crap and having it explained as me being too sensitive/I misunderstood/she didn't mean it that way/aliens made her do it now he's going to be overly concerned about disrespect, tone, and "being punked" by a two year old? I feel like I'm in the twilight zone.
I explained that DS is two and really can't understand feelings let alone regulate his tone. Today I'm going to do some googling and come up with a new dinner strategy to email DH so we can get on the same page but....I still think someone swapped out my DH with someone else. So weird.
My daughter is currently obsessed with Thomas... but only the role call song they do at the end. If you try to put on an actual episode, she says "No! No! Tommy!" until you fast forward to the song. Please tell me she'll grow out of this and I will someday be able to get the theme song out of my head.

Ummm....I don't know we are still there. DS will randomly yell out Thomas! Cheeky one!

Haha that's adorable. As soon as it ends she says "Again?" H and I both are walking around humming it all day. :?
Henry will be 4 in a few weeks, and APPARENTLY we've reached the stage where kisses from mama are gross. He keeps wiping them off, even when he thinks I can't see him.
((Grace)) I started the get the worst sore throat yesterday after lunch and it still hurts like hell. I felt like crap last night and I just want to nap today. I'm debating on whether I should go to work or not.
They had a show on my dad's crash, which I watched because the show always does a great job and for some odd reason I like knowing the details. One detail I had not been aware of was that the captain of the flight, who was so anxious to get back home to FL, also had many reports of unsatisfactory on the job including sticking to preflight check procedures, etc.
What kills me again, is it was not simply a weird weather fluke that brought the plane down, but serious human error in combination with terrible weather. It just such a senseless waste.
Not looking for hair pats, I just needed to vent my annoyance.
I'm home with ds again today. His poor cough was really bad last night so we decided to keep him home again today. Luckily, dd seemed to be feeling better last night and was fine this morning. Hopefully her and I will make it out of all this unscathed. H went to work, but said he might come home early. I should clean, but I don't want to.

There is a YouTube video where this plays on a ten minute loop.
I have, to date, lost approximately 87 hours of my life to this song.
I'm waiting to hear if work will be closing early - they are going to reassess at 12:30. Our county is currently in a state of emergency, but I kiiiiind of feel like since the home office is in WI, and they get far more snow far more frequently than we get snow, they are going to decide we can suck it up and stay open.

That is amazing, I need to find it! There is a lot I can do in ten minutes while she's occupied by that, haha.
I have to AW my husband. He’s an artist and works from home. He does his best work at night so while I sleep, he’s up drawing. Some mornings I get up and am blown away. He does traditional graphite portraits but also does digital painting. From his cell phone. Why his cell phone when he has a pretty great set-up in his office? Just to see if he can. That’s my morning random. Waking up to see these (the John Hamm is a work in progress). Attachment DeletedAttachment Deleted
