Please don't be afraid. He will be taken care of by doctors and will rebound as will you.
My brother had a quadruple by-pass surgery at age 42. That was 16 years ago and he has been in great health ever since. Heart disease can be very manageable, despite bad genes.
Good thoughts for you guys. My dad had a triple bypass when he was in his 40s and came through no worse for wear. I hope the same will be true for your H.
Coming out of lurkdom to offer my sympathy and understanding. My husband is 43, in great shape, and had a heart attack mid-January. He was rushed up to the Cath Lab and had two stents placed, they gave his heart a bit of time to recover and last week he had a 3rd stent.
I'm 37 and couldn't (still can't) wrap my brain around this happening so young. I've been through every emotion imaginable including feeling like other people my age couldn't relate even though they sympathized. I realize I'm an internet stranger, not even a regular here, but if you want to talk to someone who is where you are please feel free to PM me.
My thoughts & prayers are with your husband and family.
Thank you all, seriously, so so much. I'm doing much better, been talking with the surgical team, and my H broke down and told me how scared he was, and that pretty much snapped me into support mode. Monday might be a different story, but for now I'm hanging in there. Getting ready to hunker down on the comfy hospital room sofa for the night.
Thank you for the continued support. It means so much.
I find your courage and bravery very inspiring. I hope your husband has a full recovery.
