I'm interested to see how Morgan reacts to Rick killing Pete.
I would be pretty pro-execution in the ZA. No resources to feed people in a jail--either someone can contribute and behave themselves, or they need to be expelled or killed. And the expelled option leads to plenty of problems like Rick mentioned.
I thought it was a really good season finale actually. Not any huge cliff hangers, and no one that I really cared about died. I do wish that Glenn had killed Nicholas. I freaking hate him,. But Carol is becoming my new favorite. I think that she is hysterical. Like, hide your kids, she's coming for you, hysterical. lol

Did anyone see the end after the credits? Michonne was putting her sword back on the fireplace and she ended up putting it back in the holder and on her back.
I don't think he's gone full shane. He's like 75%. Shane was an asshole and almost raped Lori right? And Rick would never shoot someone in the leg to be zombie food so he can escape.

Well, the episode was good, I was surprised no one got killed off the show but also slightly disappointed.. i'm a terrible person ha. liverandonions, the wolves were also looking at the photos of Alexandra! guess we know what's headed in the next season.

The actions are different, but the motive is the same. He's more or less at the apex of a power trip.
EtA- I am actually conflicted as to whether he's reached the pinnacle. The juxtaposition between Morgan's arrival and Deanna on his side may create some conflict within him.
Not quite. Rewatching Shane in the context of the governor and Terminus makes his actions more appropriate ( he tried at least twice to get Otis to go on without him, but Otis was determined to not leave Shane behind. Shane did what he had to do to protect "his family"). However, Shane was there at about 6 months in when it has taken Rick a year or two? Rick couldn't turn in Michonne for the greater good when Shane was willing to give up his lifelong best friend. I think if Shane had been given the time, he would have ran a compound like the governors or terminus. Definitely not like the prison.

ETA: Rick's downfall is the crazy ( how many people would even think to rip a trachea out with their teeth, let alone follow through). Shane wasn't crazy, his thought were pretty clearheaded. I think that matters towards the character of the person.
It was a decent finale. At least they didn't leave us hanging too much. I am excited for the Morgan/Rick reunion. It should be interesting to see next fall.
No. No. Shane shot an innocent man in the leg ( not the head BUT LEG) and left him to be eaten by the hoard. Shane was irresponsible and reprehensible from the beginning. He was more like Gareth, " Us First Always".
Rick KNOWS what happens when you don't fight. Remember Farmer Rick at the prison. We were all yelling at him to kill the Gov, and he wanted to sing Cumbaya and plant some seed? All the pain the group has been through since then, Terminus, losing Hershel, losing Beth, the claimers. It is all heavy on Rick. The GOV said it first if you don't fight you DIE. Rick is stepping up to keep the lucky softies at Alexandria alive. He is the only one who can do it ( besides Michonne maybe). That place would be over run by bad people who rape and murder and then walkers in a month without Rick. He was so on the money when he said that the Alexandrites were the luckiest people he ever met and getting luckier because now they were there. Without Rick, that place was a ticking time bomb of out of touch idiots.

Someone who had been through hell and back and whose son was going to be raped and murdered by 3 grown men. Rick went there because he needed to go there. Rick is a survivor and the crazy is helpful at this point.

I know he was a crazy wack a doo, but I just can't hate Shane. I mean, that scene where he shaved his head...holy hot damn. All my hate melted at the hotness.

You are very poor judge of character. LOL.
I am not disputing this one bit. Man is crazy, then gets hot = all I see is the hot. Crazy forgiven.
This is a trait I hope I do not pass along to DD. Lol.
I love that Glenn has turned into a badass. He and Maggie are like this power couple now.
I think Glenn has always been a badass. To even survive in Atlanta for the first month (or however long it took Rick to wander into the city) he needed to be tough, then he showed his badassed-ness when he saved Rick from the tank and helped the group get out of Atlanta. He was always the one doing supply runs, going down in wells to kill well walkers, etc. I think his character was just so agreeable and nice that he got overlooked, especially with stronger personalities around (Shane and Rick).

This is totally true - I guess I'm more thinking that I'm glad the show is portraying Glenn as a more physical threat and badass, rather than just quick on his feet and a good team player. But I know I'm always sensitive to the portrayal of Asians in media.

I don't know that Rick wants power and control in and of itself. Shane just wanted power for the sake of power. I never got the vibe that he genuinely wanted to keep the rest of the camp alive (except Lori, I guess), but that he enjoyed being top dog.
Rick wants power to save dumbasses from getting themselves and his family killed. He's always done what he had to do to save his own, but his definitions of what is necessary and what's acceptable have slowly grown broader and broader. I think that's why Michonne stopped him, before he went so far that he couldn't come back.
