My grandma got a phone call saying that my uncle ( who was on his way from Georgia to Nashville) was killed in a car accident. She has no idea who it was and we can't reach anyone.
I am having a tough time getting a contact number for the highway police in either state so that I can check. Please, if you find one, can you tell me.
update: He is ok. He is still in Atlanta. We don't know if this was a prank call or if my Gran imagined it or what. Thank you so much for the help and kind thoughts. I seriously lost it for a moment.

Also try calling and texting the uncle's cell phone. Identify yourself/herself in the text so if it is emergency services who has the phone, they may decide to call back. They may be looking for how to get in contact and who to get in contact with. I'm sorry. I hope it was a mistake.
He is not due up there till the 16th, but when she got the call it may have confused her thinking that he was already there or something. Usually she is very sharp, other than forgetting some birthdays here and there.
If there was a real call and she did not imagine it, I want to kick that piece of shit. Who does that??
Cleo, sometimes we have issues with this around here. Scammers target older people and give them a similar story and then call back posing as the police/hospital and asking for money.
Tell her if someone calls back not to give them her credit card number.
