I'll play. Since this is MM, how are you planning to fund your trip to Paris?
Ooooo good question! And thanks for playing.
A few different ways.... All the flights I'll take between now and November will be adding points to the airfare. I plan on swapping residences or house sitting to offset costs of lodging. And I've been squirrelling away money for shopping + food for months now and will continue to do so until the trip happens.
Finally, I work for myself so I'll still be able to work 4 (or 3) of the 6 weeks. I do plan on taking off the time from Xmas to NYE.
I hope that answers your question. Let me know if I need to provide more details.
How are you feeling about your weight loss efforts?
What are you doing for work now? I thought the last you posted you had a FT job with a company.
PDQ
Oh like you, I keep thinking my healthy eating is going to make the weight drop off in a day. Lol. It's going, but not as fast as I'd like. But, you are not alone!
The same thing I was doing before. I didn't say I worked for a company, I said that I don't get tuition reimbursement. And I do work for a company, it just happens to be my own.
But because this isn't a safe place, I'll be dding some of this info.
AAM2012 you are so helpful. Seriously. What would I do without you constantly being a bitch to me.
I have no sympathy for people who lie about weighing almost 200lbs.
Or people who play victim like in my previous quote.
And I'm not playing victim. I'm expressing how I feel from the constant comments I get like.... "I wish I could travel like you, but I have kids." Or "I wish I had the courage to be single like you". Or how about the "you're such a rockstar for doing everything on your own, I couldn't imagine life without my husband and kids."
I'm having a bad week and apparently I'm not allowed to express that or its considered me being a victim. Instead of me just expressing my feelings from the insensitive comments I get on the regular.

Was she caught in a lie?
This is how I look now. Which obviously is not 200 lbs, but I am 155 (down from 170) which, I feel, is close to 200 considering up until I took zoloft I was lucky to hit 120.
So while I may not be "fat" according to AAM2012, I am unhappy with the current state of my body. And am much closer to 200 than I ever thought possible.
“With sorrow—for this Court, but more, for the many millions of American women who have today lost a fundamental constitutional protection—we dissent,”

I feel like I have so much to live up to being the single, childless person in every single circle.
I feel there's so much pressure to be everything that everyone isn't because of a husband, boyfriend, child, etc.
I know this is probably crazy smog nonsense. But ugh, sometimes it's just too much.
I recognize this is just booze yakking + the pms.
That's an interesting perception because I don't feel like my husband has kept me from doing/being anything except sleeping with other people, ha! And I'm more than fine with that.
My new baby keeps from doing anything, but only for the temporary. After a year or so, my life should be very flexible again. And things I would hesitate about with a child like moving to a 3rd world country were never interesting to me anyway.
I might suggest building up your glass half full repertoire for comments like those. Assume good intent, which you might already be doing. Don't apologize for your lifestyle, which I don't think you do....and do NOT perceive those comments as pressure.
Let's practice: I wish I could travel like you, but I can't with kids. Bliss: I love the opportunity to travel so it really is a blessing! I've been dreaming of Paris for EONS and will be going soon. Is there a trip you have been dreaming on going on with your little munchkin when they get older?
I wish I had the courage to be single. Bliss: Aw. Thanks! Being single has really allowed me to build a sense of independence and self worth....I hope when I find "my" person in the future I'll be an even better partner.

I love these suggestions @shoegal! Thank you!
It's only been recent that these comments are being made so I haven't really been sure how to respond.
But these are great and something I can definitely use irl.
Oh. Duh, AMA.....are you going to be learning a little French before you go? What do you absolutely HAVE to do when you are there?
Yes, I'm looking into taking classes here and learning as much as possible.
Oh gosh, there's so much I have to do from museums, traveling to other cities (day or overnight), eating, picnics, wine and macaroons. That's why I want to go 6 weeks, so I have time to do everything I want and not feel rushed.

Check out the app/website Duo Lingo, it's not going to teach you a new language but it's a fun way to practice.

To this one, my stock response has always been, "We all choose our priorities."

It doesn't always go over very well. lol.
Lol. Yes, I've definitely used or something similar.
My usual comment is "well, my priority has never been marriage or children."

Why are you posting a few weeks back that due to financial constraints you are cutting out booze & lunch & picking up a serving job but around the same time you post that you are being called out by friends for your "rock-star lifestyle"?

Oh... I tried and failed to cut out happy hours and lunches. It's just apart of my life yo. lol. But seriously, it is.
I picked up a pt bartending gig because my income is so fluctuating that it was stressing me out. So with this pt job I'm able to cover all expenses and focus my energy (and money) on building business. I have the time, why not make the most of it. It's not like I was really doing much on weekend nights anyway.
And yes, my friends are always making comments, as I posted above.
