I saw a spoiler on FB, so I didn't think I'd cry. I watched this morning to see how it all went down, and I'll be damned if I wasn't ugly crying as soon as "chasing cars" started.
I've never watched Grey's Anatomy, but when I turned off the DVR last night it was on that station, and I couldn't help but wonder WTF was going on. WHY WOULD THEY DO THAT? And I don't even follow that mess. lol
I unquit last night. Although maybe just for last night. That was a great, old school grays episode. Well, except it was terrible and sad I can't believe they killed him.
And the friggin dream sequence where he was ok. :,(
$30 says the series finalle ends with a flash forward about 15 years and that little girl who befriended Derek is starting her first day as surgical intern at the hospital
I got a little preview when I logged in to abc.com and went to the grey's page and it's all: "A Memorial to Derek"
WHYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY. Why did he have to take the stupid no-cell-phone airport shortcut!? Why did that stupid asshole kid have to be showing off for the nerdy girl!? Why didn't he know to not STOP IN THE MIDDLE OF THE DAMN ROAD to pick up his cell (which magically works)!? Why didn't the surgeon girl at the non-trauma center teaching hospital force for a CT!?
That was totally awful to watch and now there is both NO McSteamy OR McDreamy. I am unsure if I can continue watching. A mourning Meredith might be too much for me to handle.
I wish I had just quit it halfway through last week's episode when everyone was happy. I don't know if I still want to watch. I hate dramas all around but made the mistake of getting invested in these characters when they did the Superbowl bomb episode. I was able to quit Private Practice when it started to annoy me.
I was ugly crying last night. I don't watch shows to be sad! Unacceptable!
Word on the street is that next week is the series finale, not just the season finale.
Where did you hear this? This would actually make me feel better.
Mostly Reddit. Deductions from the timing of the season and finale and things Shonda Rhimes and some of the actors have said. It's just speculation though.

I'll watch next week, even though I skipped most of this season. And I will hope it is the series finale. They pulled the plug on McSteamy, McDreamy, and now it's time to pull the plug on the series.
It would be rather Shondra-like to just be end the series with an unexpected twist - like ending when no one expects it.
Entertainment Weekly also let the cat out of the bag yesterday.
I'm usually pretty good at avoiding spoilers, but my uncle who doesn't watch the show posting about it made it kind of obvious. He didn't come right out and say it, obviously (and he actually had to sign an NDA), but just him posting at all meant it was big.
Yeah, I cannot believe EW did that. The article was a huge picture of PD and it said "The doctor is out." And they posted on IG. What stooges work there?

I thought it was pretty clear from the preview last week what was going to happen. I kept waiting for him to get hit walking across the road as he helped the others.
I also think it's interesting how it's been covered, at least since last night. The networks aren't even trying to spare spoilers, almost like it's an FU to streamers and dvr folks.

Derek deserved so much better than that! Why did his cell phone magically start working as he was pulling away?
And WHY couldn't we just have a happy ending to the series?! Sad Meredith is awful. I would love if Yang came back for the funeral to comfort Meredith. Is that too much to ask? One more dance party, please.
And if there are only 1 or 2 episodes left, are we really just going to be left hanging about Dr. Herman? I need more closure besides her just being blind and going off to rehab.
I knew it was coming because my uncle (who is friends with PD) was making jokes last night on social media.
I too hope it's all over next week because otherwise next season is going to be sad Meredith again, and that's just, no thank you.
I didn't realize there was talk of another season. I've been thinking all along that this would be the last one. Please, Shonda, just let it end already.

I was annoyed by his voiceovers during surgery. I get that he was conscious when he got to the hospital and knew what was going on but couldn't speak so that made some sense but he would have been under general anesthesia during the surgery and completely unaware of everything going on.

Lots of near-death ppl report being able to "see" what was going on while they were unconscious.
Personally, I've sorta woken up during surgery. I distinctly remember the surgeons discussing the movies they were going to see that weekend. I tried to join the conversation. I'm sure all I got out was "blllllllaaaaerrrrgggg," at which point the said "Steve, I think she needs a bit more." And then I went back to sleep. (Fwiw, I couldn't feel a thing)
