How many naps per day? Down to one for a while but suddenly he has been falling asleep in the car or stroller mid morning, which sucks because then he doesn't want an afternoon nap. The morning nap is just a cat nap.
What are they drinking? Water or breastmilk
What are they eating? Everything! Favorites are meatballs, graham crackers, apples and bananas.
How do they get around? (walking/crawling/running/etc) Running!
Favorite books? Llama Llama Zippity Zoom and Red Hat, Green Hat
Your favorite/least favorite part of this age? Favorite: He loves books all of the sudden and loves to give kisses. He like a little French man and has to kiss both cheeks.
Least Favorite: molars Plans for more kids? Probably not. He's our second, so we went into his pregnancy knowing he was our last, but he's so amazing he makes me want another.
Hey everyone, it's been a while since we've checked in! How is your 12-15 month old doing?
Great! He is so fun right now!
What is their bday?
April 14
How many naps per day?
Usually two although last week he had 3 a couple of times since he is up so darn early and was sick.
What are they drinking?
Nursing 4x per day, drinks about 20oz of water a day, exploring WCM but he's not really a fan. We also just tried a strawberry kefir drink and GE drank a bit of that.
What are they eating?
Everything! Favourites are eggs, pasta, meatballs, cheese, and all fruits.
How do they get around? (walking/crawling/running/etc)
About 75% crawling and 25% walking. He took his first steps on Easter Sunday and has been steadily building on that since then. His record is 29 steps. He just figured out yesterday how to go one direction, stop, turn around, and go the other way yesterday.
Favorite toys?
His walking push toy. He does laps of the house with that thing. Books. Stacking Cups. Ball pit. Tunnel.
Favorite books?
All of them! I think his favourites are Sandra Boynton. He also loves touch and feel and lift the flap books.
Your favorite/least favorite part of this age?
Favourite: He recently started STTN so that's amazing! I love watching him figure things out. His oral comprehension is really good, he understands so much of what I say to him. Watching his personality develop. He is such a character! The hugs, kisses, and cuddles.
Least favourite: Still some separation anxiety which is so hard on both me and my H. He only wants me and it is so exhausting for me and breaks my H's heart a bit.
Plans for more kids? Yes but not TTC until late summer or fall at the earliest.

What is their bday? 2/20/14
How many naps per day? 1-2
What are they drinking? goat milk, water, and she's still nursing
What are they eating? mostly everything. her favorites are cheese, yogurt and tangerines
How do they get around? (walking/crawling/running/etc) mostly cruising and crawling, though this week she's begun taking a few steps on her own
Favorite toys? she loves hugging her dolls/stuffed animals, and playing with her kitchen. She's also finally starting to use the ride on toy we got her for her birthday.
Favorite books? she usually won't sit still while I read to her, and doesn't seem to be paying much attention. So I sit on the floor and read to her while she plays around me. I enjoy reading Sandra Boynton books, Wild About Books, and Good Night Lullaby.
Your favorite/least favorite part of this age? My favorite part of this age is that she loves to give hugs, and loves playing with us. My least favorite is having to watch her EVERY SINGLE SECOND because she gets into everything.
Plans for more kids? Yes, we'd like another. We'll probably TTC next year.
How many naps per day? One at daycare, usually two if he's home with us. They're only about an hour long though, regardless of number.
What are they drinking? Still some formula, WCM, water. We tried some iced hibiscus tea last weekend that seemed popular.
What are they eating? At daycare, he eats EVERYTHING. He'll be randomly picky about some things, but not too much, it sounds like. At home is a different story. We try feeding him the same things they do, but he refuses to eat them with us. Because he goes to bed so early, we can't eat dinner with him, so he doesn't really get a chance to see eating happening. It's tough, and one of the biggest struggles I have right now.
I have a lot of food issues (texture related), and I really don't want to pass them on to him. I keep trying to give him a wide variety, but I feel like we always end up back with the standards, and pouches. I don't know how to get off that. But I tell myself that he's eating, it's not crap, so I don't want to stress too much.
How do they get around? (walking/crawling/running/etc) He started walking this past weekend. He's been cruising since December, so it was fun to see him start actually walking! He'll crawl a lot at home, or ask to be picked up.
Favorite toys? He LOVES his play kitchen. We don't even have anything for it, but he loves to open/close doors and bang around with it. Also his Hape shape sorter.
Favorite books? One a friend got us, called Love Monster. Giraffes Can't Dance. Dear Zoo. The Baby Lit Pride & Prejudice.
Your favorite/least favorite part of this age? I love how much more interactive he is. It's great, and we're having tons of fun. He's so excited to see us at the end of the day, which is awesome.
Just the past few weeks he's started fighting the car seat more. He'll stand up in it, turn around, do everything except sit down.
Plans for more kids? Up in the air. We talk about Hypothetical Second Child (HSC), but aren't entirely sold yet. I don't feel like we're complete, but my husband is fine with just one. However, we'd definitely be waiting for a bit due to finances. I can only afford one in daycare with HCOL city living!
What is their bday? 12/8, but she was 7 weeks early. I still feel she is tracking 2 month late in terms of skills though the pediatrician isn't worried yet. At 16 months, she only has 1.5 words.
How many naps per day? Usually 2, but it took us until 12.5 months to get her on a good nap schedule. Life is much more sane since then.
What are they drinking? WCM mostly, a few sips of water or home made juices, still some formula in the MOTN though I will switch that to WCM once we run out
What are they eating? It is so tough to get her to eat at mealtimes. She has 6 teeth so we still cut her food and feed her mostly mush and purees. If she suddenly decides something is irritating her throat, she will use her fingers and to gag herself and vomit her entire meal before we can catch her and remove her hand. This probably happens a good 30% of the time. If we see any sign of her dry heaving, we stop feeding her and try again in an hour. She refuses a lot of foods. Basically she eats chicken, pouches, potato, pasta, rice, cheese, lentil soup, veggie soups, hot cereals, yogurt, apple/pear sauce, grapes. Sometimes fish, and random small dry snacks. Won't finish a cookie or biscuit.
How do they get around? (walking/crawling/running/etc) Walking and running, both aimlessly.
Favorite toys? Bear Bear (a small stuffed Beanie Baby bear) and a whole variety of toys that have buttons that play music. She is all about the music.
Favorite books? One with feel elements (furry tail, fluffy fur, etc.) or pop ups or sliding doors. Zero patience for actually listening to a story.
Your favorite/least favorite part of this age? She dances and puts things away, very cute. She has clingy days and hates being restrained so she is basically homebound because it is too hard to take her anywhere.
Plans for more kids? Yes, I would like another, but not yet. At this moment, a second one would kill me and my career.
Hey everyone, it's been a while since we've checked in! How is your 12-15 month old doing?
What is their bday? 2/16
How many naps per day? 1 at daycare (MWF), 1 maybe 2 when he's home
What are they drinking? WCM mostly. Water when we're out. I usually do juice mixed with water once a day too.
What are they eating? SO PICKY. He loves peanut butter, grahm crackers, pears, most fruits, little veggies, carbs (he is my child. lol.) Daycare seems to be able to get him to eat more veggies than we can.
How do they get around? (walking/crawling/running/etc) Crawling mostly. He cruises on furniture very well, but hasn't tried walking solo. He does do what we call his peg leg crawl. One leg is bent and he moves forward while bending his knee and kinda tucks the other leg in behind him. It's hilarious.
Favorite toys? Anything with wheels. And kitchen utensils.
Favorite books? He loves the little Dr. Seuss board books I think because he can handle the pages easy.
Your favorite/least favorite part of this age? The attitude! And the tantrums! lol. But he gives the best hugs and is just giggly and laughs all the time. I love that he's more engaged in the world around him and learning every minute. It's so much fun to watch.
Plans for more kids? Eventually when he's around 3-4. None in the near future though. God no.
I can't do the whole check in right now, but in answer to your question @awinter, my girls are not much for communication right now. They're both increasing rapidly in receptive language, pretty much daily, but not as much as what you reference. Squishy kind of says 'mu' for milk, quack, and we've heard her say all done. She signs milk usually and all done sometimes. Squeaky babbles all the time but no spoken words and only signs milk. I don't know, from what I read on gbcn they might be a little delayed, but they're farther at this age than my nephew was and he did not qualify for EI and now at 6 has an amazing vocabulary. Also I do sometimes really see the difference the 6 weeks early makes (but since we had the same due date that's adjusted for!). We'll see where we're At for their 15m pedi appointment. I worry if I think about it too much so I try not to.
How many naps per day? One or two, depending on the day.
What are they drinking? WCM, water, and she nurses two or three times a day.
What are they eating? Whatever we do. She loves cheese and spaghetti.
How do they get around? (walking/crawling/running/etc) Walking. She crawls occasionally but mostly walks and is very close to running.
Favorite toys? Her ride on car, stuffed elephant, Duplos.
Favorite books? Dear Zoo is the only one she'll sit for.
Your favorite/least favorite part of this age? Favorite: watching her learn is just amazing. Seeing how much more she understands and seeing her communication skills improve...it's such a neat thing to witness. Least favorite: the tantrums! If we stop her from doing anything she goes limp and screeches. Fun!
Plans for more kids? We will definitely have at least one, maybe two, more. When is kind of up in the air but hopefully TTC late summer.
It took a while to get to my computer, so here we go...
What is their bday? April 1
How many naps per day? Usually 2, sometimes 1, depending on when he wakes up & our activities of the day
What are they drinking? Some WCM, some water, usually nurse 2-3 times a day
What are they eating? Not as much as I'd like! He loves cheese, waffles, Cheerios, and pouches/purees. He LOVES pushing new foods off the highchair tray. He had no interest in pizza! We're still working on this.
How do they get around? He's been walking for about 2 months. It started out very choppy, then about 2 weeks after he started toddling around and crusing, he just took off. Now, there's no stopping him. He's walking, running, climbing, manuvering the steps. NOTHING IS SAFE!!
Favorite toys? Despite buying lots and lots of actual toys, his favorite things are still remote controls, empty small soda bottles, our soft coasters, and ripping the newspaper. Actually, there is one toy he prefers- the Fisher Price chatter phone on a cord. He pulls that thing everywhere around the house. Some mornings he cries when we have to leave it. Thankfully, they have the same toy in his room at daycare!
Favorite books? I have favorite books that I like to read to him- Caps for Sale, Baby Loves to Rock, Night Night Little Pookie. I haven't really noticed him having a preference, though. Your favorite/least favorite part of this age? Favorite- he's so much fun! He's developing a little personality and preferences. He can do so many things! Least- Honestly, the food! He has an egg allergy and he's becoming very picky. It's hard to figure out what to prepare for him, to make sure he's getting enough food, enough of the right foods. I don't have the best diet, and I'm picky, and I really didn't want him to take after me in this way. I know this takes time, and I shouldn't compare, but his buddies at school all seem to be eating more "real" foods.
Plans for more kids? There are some things up in the air at work right now. Depending on how that all plays out, we may start TTC in the winter, but we also may wait until next summer.
