German/Austrian Christmas markets are still on the agenda for later this year, but in the meantime, I just booked a flight to Berlin with DD for the end of this month.
We'll be staying in Charlottenburg. My main idea is just to wander around, go to some parks with DD, maybe stumble upon a charming toy store or cafe and just generally enjoy a change of scenery. Does anyone have any specific reco's of things my 4-year-old DD might enjoy? I vaguely recall that the Kinder chocolate factory may be somewhere in Berlin, but I could be totally wrong or they could not do tours or anything.
I mentioned these already. Pergamon Museum all the reconstructed gates and buildings are impressive. I think your DD would be in awe of it all. You can just wander around and enjoy all the reconstructions. Get your tickets ahead of time that was the longest line by far we had to wait in for tickets.
German Technology Museum trains, planes, boats. Really awesome to check out. Lots of life size things to look at and explore. I know it would of been a blast for me to look at that age. Right down good directions it's not as easy to find like the other museums.
KaDeWe is the department store! Lots and lots of floors. I'm sure they have a nice toy section to explore.
We went bowling at a place in Alexanderplatz which was fun since that didn't really exist in Switzerland. Could be a fun after dinner activity.
