They think she had some sort of seizure. Fighting some sort of infection. Cat scan came back normal. Waiting on ultrasound results. She's probably going to have to stay overnight
Update: we are discharged and at home. Still no explanation. Bkb is her normal self. We have a follow-up with her pediatrician Wednesday and a refferal for children's to check for seizure disorder. Could just be in the end no explanation for it. Hopefully it doesn't happen again. Super scary.
I've been thinking of you guys all night. How is she doing this morning?
Thanks mkate710. Nothing new with us except a crummy nights sleep in the hospital. Bkb is doing great. Just waiting around for the pediatrician to come in for the day to find out what she says.
I'm glad she is ok for now. Crossing fingers and toes everything checks out with her follow up appt and that this never happens again! How scary!
We went straight there from the hospital. She's been playing Sophia all morning. Happy kid. I'm hoping she naps. She's a little cranky from being up until 11pm.
OMG karebear! I caught that she was sick with no explanation while you were out of town. I didn't realize it was this serious! What could cause the blood count to be so high? Has anything like this every happened before? I'm keeping you and BKB in my thoughts. I feel like I know her after all these years. Keep us posted.

She had a week where she was fine in between. No fever. Usually the count means she's fighting some sort of infection. She has no other symptoms besides the seizure, so the doctors don't know what to treat. The doc even said the seizure could cause it it to be that high but usually only longer seizures do that. Really hoping it was a fluke thing and it will never happen again.
I was going to ask if it was one of those type of seizures that some kids get when the temp rises very quickly and suddenly. I don't think they usually cause damage or anything but I am also not an expert. Are they febrile seizures I think is what its called?
Either way I hope its something you guys don't have to deal with again. Did She get her princess dress?
