2. How are you feeling? Mostly fine, just tired a lot. I really miss my energy (I'm sure that sounds dumb.) I really want to workout and it sounds good to me, but an hour workout means an hour+ nap afterwards and I just don't have two+ hours for that. So more often than not I end up not working out, which is a bummer.
3. What kind of leave will you be able to take after baby is born? Still working that out. I'm looking for maybe 8 weeks totally off, 4 weeks from home/limited clients only, and then at 12 weeks, come back and have Calvin take 4 weeks so Hobbes doesn't need to be in daycare until ~4 months. He actually has more leave than I do, although we're not going to exhaust it.
4. Pregnancy vents/randoms. The energy thing is my big one. I used to be able to perform at work and have energy leftover to train for triathlons, work on my house, etc. Now I'm working at the same level but I have nothing leftover afterwards, so work is basically a much larger % of my awake life. That sucks!
ETA: I forgot a pregnancy happy! Calvin made me a massage app't for this afternoon. Squee. I have him convinced that yoga, massages, etc. will help me avoid aches and pains in the future. I am pleased with this status quo.

1. How far along are you? 6w6d
2. How are you feeling? Tired and nauseous...so the usual
3. What kind of leave will you be able to take after baby is born? I'm currently unemployed, if that's still the case when baby comes I'll be a SAHM. If I do start something between now and then, no clue.
4. Pregnancy vents/randoms. I told my close friends about the pregnancy this week so that was fun!
2. How are you feeling? Pretty good today. My back hasn't been hurting nearly as much as it used to, although my legs are still sore and achy.
3. What kind of leave will you be able to take after baby is born? Hoping to take the full 12 weeks, but I doubt PTO will last that long. I may try to save some PTO hours and take some unpaid time. DH is in talks with his HR to take some decent leave too, so that will be nice.
pooh8402 random but curious how pumping works if you do shift work (not that you definitely know yet). It seems like your schedule could vary a lot and you could get "stuck" with a patient. How is that normally dealt with?
I can only base it on what I've seen my coworkers do, which is, pump when you can. Fortunately, my patients are low acuity and I do somewhat have a schedule to my day. I've already identified a couple of periods where I could probably squeeze in a pump. Fortunately, we have a ton of Symphony pumps which are super efficient, and a break room within the nursery, which is my station. I could eat and pump at the same time. Since we're all used to walking in on moms pumping in their rooms, it's not all that jarring for someone to walk in on an employee pumping in the break room, especially since everyone uses covers so nothing is seen. I would feel comfortable pumping with a cover in front of our male neonatologist.
2. How are you feeling? Good! Although I've been having digestive issues lately, which really sucks.
3. What kind of leave will you be able to take after baby is born? Well anything I take off is unpaid. Last time, I took 8 weeks off and then came back part time for another 12 weeks. It will depend on our child care situation and how things are going at work. But 8 weeks off at a bare minimum.
4. Pregnancy vents/randoms. The nursery is finally starting to come together! Fabrics have been finalized, crib and bookshelf get delivered today (dresser is backordered until mid August, so this baby may arrive before her dresser does). I am really excited to get her room together. DS is already calling it "baby's room" since he sees the rock & play in there. So cute!

1. 24w2d
2. Better. Had a follow up yesterday from my emergency cerclage and cervix is still closed and tight. Basically, I just have to monitor myself and KOKO (still on bed rest) for the next month. My mfm said I may be able to go back to work at 28 weeks if all is going well.
3. 12 weeks FMLA, probably all unpaid since I'm using all my PTO right now. Not ideal, but hopefully worth it.
4. I've lost a couple pounds but it's probably muscle! I need to start really watching what I eat or I'll regret it later.
2. How are you feeling? I had painful contractions every 10 minutes last night from 11 pm until 6 am. Then they were 7.5 minutes apart for an hour. Then they fucking stopped. Well, they went back to 10 minutes apart for a while, and now they're 15+ minutes apart and not timeable. I made DH come home from work when they had been 7.5 minutes apart, and now he's debating going back to work, which makes me want to cry because I want to go into labor, dammit.
3. What kind of leave will you be able to take after baby is born? I don't officially get any leave because I'm giving birth outside of the academic year. My options are to either take all of fall semester off unpaid or none of it. We can't afford for me to do a full semester unpaid, plus I suspect it would be side-eyed heavily since I'm giving birth in May (he's going to come in May, right???), so I go back to work in August regardless of when the baby comes. I had planned on him starting daycare on 8/1 because I have a really heavy prep load in the fall, but he's going to be so little...classes don't start until 8/31, so if I can figure out a way to prep with him home with me, I could just have DH take off to watch him during my meetings in August and gain a little bit of extra time before daycare starts. Ugh. I want to cry just thinking about all of this.
4. Pregnancy vents/randoms. My whole post was basically a big vent, so see above?
2. Pretty good. I'm enjoying the 2nd tri while it lasts.
3. I work for a very small company (5 employees), so no FMLA. But I can get up to 12 weeks partial pay through CA state disability and paid family leave. So I will probably take close to 8 or 10. But luckily my job is very flexible and I can ease back in and WFH a lot too. And my boss is super understanding. So actually just had a baby about 2 weeks ago, so she will be coming back from her leave just as I start mine.
We do have a week long conference we put on in November when this baby will be 3 months old. So that's going to be crazy. But it's in Yosemite, so we plan to make it a mini vacation and have DH, my mom and the kids all come with me. So DH and the boys can go do fun outdoorsy stuff and my mom can hang back at the hotel with the baby and I can take pumping or nursing breaks as needed.
4. Not pregnancy related, but my first "baby" graduates preschool today!

1. How far along are you? b/w 37-38? RCS is two weeks from yesterday.
2. How are you feeling? The pelvic pain has been pretty unbearable the past few months and my throat is killing me from acid reflux. So happy to be in the homestretch.
3. What kind of leave will you be able to take after baby is born? I SAH.
4. Pregnancy vents/randoms. I'm so full of complaints lately, butmy OB has me paranoid that I'm developing pre-e again. I'm grateful to have made it this long, but I'm hoping to make it through the end without it.
water*drop I feel bad liking your post, but I'm joining in your misery & I'm not even close to my due date. I hope he's here soon!
2. How are you feeling? Tired all the time, a little more nauseated that I ever was with C but it's super random.
3. What kind of leave will you be able to take after baby is born? I'll take 12 weeks FMLA. Six weeks partially paid with short term disability and the additional weeks covered by some PTO.
4. Pregnancy vents/randoms. I feel like it's already getting harder and harder to hide my mini bump, but I also wonder if I'm just imagining things and it's just the belly fat I have anyway. I'm looking forward to hearing a heart beat in a couple of weeks so I feel more comfortable just telling people. Last night my sister's boyfriend brought me over a Summer Shandy beer because he "could tell that I wanted one." I took a sip from it and then went inside, dumped it out and filled the bottle with lemonade. Such a waste. lol
1. 5 weeks today 2. I feel so crampy. I don't remember it being this bad last time. My uterus can't be stretching yet, right? lol 3. Hopefully, I will get the same leave I got last time (3 months fully paid) unless the President I'm not on good terms with lately decides to screw me over. I can also get 3 additional months unpaid, I think, but I would not take that option unless I absolutely had to. 4. I'm a little stressed about our housing situation with #2 on the way. We need a bigger house and an additional room for the baby but the market is crazy where we are right now. I don't know if we will be able to move before baby comes and I feel sad that this one won't have his/her special nursery like dd.
2. How are you feeling? Surprisingly good! Wearing a support belt for working out has basically eliminated the bit of pelvic or pubic pain I was having.
3. What kind of leave will you be able to take after baby is born? 12 week FMLA. Most of it will be paid, I get 6 weeks STD at 100% pay, then 2 weeks paid "new parent leave", I have something like 2.5 weeks of vacation time, and the last bit will be unpaid. DH gets 6 weeks paid leave as well, and he's probably going to split it up to be home with me the first 2-3 weeks or so, then take more time later on.
4. Pregnancy vents/randoms. Not much going on really. I looked it up recently and found that you're not considered "full term" until 39 weeks, they changed it around the time DD was born. So I'm strangely (slightly) bummed out, I've kind of been celebrating every miniature milestone along the way. I guess now I get to celebrate making it to 37 weeks as "early term".
water*drop - sending you lots of labor vibes! Hopefully all the contractions you've been having have at least made some progress and you'll have a quick and easy labor very soon.
pooh8402 random but curious how pumping works if you do shift work (not that you definitely know yet). It seems like your schedule could vary a lot and you could get "stuck" with a patient. How is that normally dealt with?

That's nice you have access to the symphony. I actually rented one since I used it in the NICU and had better output. I also pumped a lot in front of the neonatologist. They're used to it
2. How are you feeling? Pretty good- love 2nd trimester
3. What kind of leave will you be able to take after baby is born? 6-8 weeks max. I don't have disability so it's all unpaid. And well, we need the $. My boss is really flexible though considering I'm technically not fmla eligible at the time I'll deliver. The plan is a gradual return to work starting at 6 weeks with a lot of work from home and then back to full swing by January. It's no Canada, but I'll survive.
4. Pregnancy vents/randoms. I weighed more than I thought I did at my first appointment at 8 weeks so hitting 18 pounds total is more realistic than I thought. According to them I've onky gained 8#. Still a stretch but maybe possible.
2. How are you feeling? Physically, generally pretty good. My exhaustion that I was dealing with last week seems to be better thankfully. Thinking it probably had a fair bit to do with blood sugars since I didn't see the GD counsellor until Friday.
3. What kind of leave will you be able to take after baby is born? I'm in Canada so I'm entitled to a year. At this point I plan to take the full 12 months.
4. Pregnancy vents/randoms. My SI issues continue to exist, but aren't getting worse thankfully. If I have to lay flat on my back (ie during an ultrasound or while having my fundal height/HB checks) it's really uncomfortable.
2. Great, actually. I had a growth spurt over the past few weeks, so I'm getting used to my new size, but otherwise no problems other than getting tired easily. I am interested to see what I weigh next week.
3. I work PT. I'm still figuring out if I just want to quit.
4. No real vents this week- other than randoms wanting to touch me. Anatomy scan didn't turn up any abnormalities, so we are happy about that.

1. How far along are you? 32+4
2. How are you feeling? Pretty good. My legs hurt, moreso at night, and I'm tired but that could be from trying to set up and unpack the house
3. What kind of leave will you be able to take after baby is born? I'm be staying at home. Never in my life did i think this would every be an option but because of the relocation, it is.
4. Pregnancy vents/randoms. I started washing all the baby clothes and cloth diapers. I was so afraid to mess them up!!

1. 20.5 weeks 2. Kind of blah this week. This is the first day I haven't had a headache/stomachache, etc. I had a couple of crappy doc appointments too. 3. I already SAH and will continue to. H has like a week of vacation time he's saved. 4. I mentioned in ransoms yesterday that I had my anatomy scan. I'm team green but had the leave the monitor on so I could look. I'm 60-70% sure it's a girl and I feel blah about it. I've pictured boys and just don't think I'll be good with a girl. Plus this doc told me I look fat (in addition to the Ob this week). So that's awesome. Oh and the placenta is low (?) and he hopes it will move later. I don't know if there are any other risks or whatever with that and I don't care to google it. So... Just blah all together.
2. How are you feeling? Feeling better than before just tired now.
3. What kind of leave will you be able to take after baby is born? Both DH and I are self employed so any leave we take is our decision and unpaid. I have no idea how much time I'll take off since I work from home. I'll see how things go.
4. Pregnancy vents/randoms. We did a family photo session yesterday and hope we got a few good ones of DD since I realized I don't have any good pictures of her to frame (what kind of mom doesn't have a good picture of her own kid?!).
