I never understand why people are impressed when fathers can adequately care for their children.
This drives me crazy too! I hate hate hate when someone says their husband is "babysitting" their kids. It is not babysitting when it is your own kids!! Will he do everything exactly like me? No. Will Blake Blake be well cared for and happy when I return? Absolutely!
The babysitting thing is one of my biggest pet-peeves! I love reminding people that DH isn't babysitting, but he is parenting when I'm gone!
I'm gonna need lots of coffee today. Staying up too late, ending up with a midnight visitor, storms, and flash flood warnings blaring on my phone do not mix well for a good night's sleep. From FB, it sounds like many people around us are still without power and I'm counting my lucky stars ours is back on!
I am up. I slept like crap last night. I somehow hurt my hips and it feels like they are both dislocated which sucks. I can hardly move! My mom is still sick, her fever keeps going down, then up to over 102 then down and rinse, wash and repeat. My mom is a stubborn mule, so to see her literally bedridden is a scary thing to see. And she refuses to go to the Dr because she can't take anything because of her kidney disease. Grrrrr!
Another warm day today. Hopefully we will get outside.

I went out for a few hours by myself the other night. People kept asking who was watching the kids. Ummm, their father? Who else did they expect? I feel like if H went out, no one would question who was watching the kids.
I picked up a work shift today not even thinking about the holiday weekend. I'm really hoping I actually make decent money, but I got cut at like 8 last night. A SATURDAY NIGHT. Ugh. I also work tomorrow night and that will probably be a crappy shift, too.
A seems to be puke free today! I think we are going car shopping for MH today. He needs a new car so bad. We have put it off for way too long because the whole no car payment thing has been quite convenient.
Yeah it's funny when people are awed if you say h is home with the kids because you're in a bar/at gym/shopping/whatever. Like you're so lucky and he's doing you a big favor. Dad of the year because he's willing to be in his own house alone with his own kids for a few hours?

Because they pretend they're idiots. Last night Charles was tasked with heating up the fresh direct mashed potatoes. The directions are as follows: take off cardboard sleeve, leave plastic film in place, microwave for 2 min, let stand 1 min.
He pulls them out of the fridge and asks me what to do. I tell him to read the label (because he should be able to do this BY HIMSELF!!). He appears to read, gets out a fork and starts poking holes in the film. I ask him what he's doing and he just looks at me. Again I tell him to READ THE LABEL! He is a chess master. He went to Yale. He was a VP before 30. Yet somehow at home he acts like a moron. I do not get it!
Lol, sorry, I know it's frustrating to you. But thinking of Charles struggling with mashed potatoes cracks me up.

Stupid insomnia didn't let me go to sleep until almost 2am. Wes let me sleep in until 8, but I've basically been away since 5:30 with bad gassy pains. Now I'm up and along with the gas pains I'm having my annoying Braxton hicks. Wes is sick and Peyton is being super annoying this morning. We are heading to my parents house soon. Yay.

It's supposed to rain pretty much all day today. I am not looking forward to being trapped inside alone with my kids. They have been especially squirrelly and abnoxious lately.
We watched Interstellar last night. WTF was that movie???
I am so tired! I want to let Rhys just play in his crib and doze but I can't since I didn't lower yet (he fell out right before bed last night)
I usually try to get at least few sales a day (lularoe) but I woke up this morning and overnight I had people request 5 skirts, 1 dress and 1 tunic so I don't even have to "work" today! Yay
We don't even have plans today, which means we'll probably just hang around the house all day. Boring

Of course when mom does it that's just life
Haha I know!!
Yesterday Ian was complaining because of how much he "watched" the kids all morning and I said "oh you mean, you were being their dad?" He shut up lol (He was more complaining because he's sick but the way he said it was annoying)
I feel like I'm in the twilight zone today. I woke up all alone. No DH and no kids. This NEVER happens. It's amazing yet kinda eerie. Mil has the kids until the afternoon, and DH went golfing. The house is so quiet, I'm feeling very introspective today about life. My life is consumed by mothering my boys, that when they are not here I don't know what to do with myself. Lol. Right now I'm pet sitting my neighbor's cat, then I'll head back home and relax for a little.
It's been an emotional morning. We go to church in a small town where my dad is from and where my grandmother lives (about 15 min away.) There has been a lot of tragedy in this small community recently. Their mayor was killed in a wreck, the daughter of the local restaurant owner committed suicide, a 16 year old drowned by getting caught in a pipe last week, and a 18 year old died in a wreck last night. The 16 year old and his family go to the same mass as we do and he was the usual alter server. Today, his dad filled in for him. Between that and the homily, there were a lot of teary eyes today.

Both sets of our parents suck at being quiet. Our moms will do things like shut the door silently, but then talk on their phone loudly. Our dads are just loud 100% of the time.
It's actually sunny today! Ada keeps asking and talking about going outside. We haven't even finished breakfast yet, give me a few minutes child! It's also cold but oh well I will take her outside.
AndyCohen I seriously loled. My H pulls crap like that all the time. It blows my mind how he can be a competent professional every day at work and then come home and turn it off. I know he's capable!!!
Everyone but me is still asleep. Miraculously there was no puking by anyone last night so the plan is to go to the in laws for pancakes and then leave may there while Ian and I go see a movie and have lunch. Fingers crossed this date actually happens.

My best friend just showed up with coffee and bagels. She lives 2 hrs away now and is in town for a birthday party. It was a nice surprise. This afternoon we have a party about an hour away at Ha friends house. It's an awesome day to sit outside and drink. Also... My foot is feeling so much better!!
